Business Development Director
JOB PURPOSE
Drive commercial growth and business expansion by leading strategic growth initiatives. Capitalize on emerging technologies, refine client value propositions, and manage strategic partnerships to enhance company competitiveness and help with company’s business expansion.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead and drive business expansion to enhance company competitiveness
Work closely with relevant stakeholders to develop and drive the strategic planning process to develop short- to long-term strategies for the business units.
Continuously review and adjust business strategies to navigate competitive shifts and rising client expectations.
Guide business units through scenario planning, evaluating growth options, operational risks, and market positioning strategies.
Review business development strategies to effectively respond to competitive challenges.
2. Drive strategic implementation through reviewing, approving, and integrating key initiatives, activities, and processes to achieve business unit strategies
Develop specific sales/negotiation initiatives to ensure the achievement of short- to long-term goals.
Review and coordinate functional action plans with various business units, divisions, and/or departments to achieve business KPIs.
Ensure the efficient and effective implementation of initiatives to drive business units in achieving their objectives.
Lead regular reviews of initiatives to identify enhancements, modifications, and updates to systems, processes, and tools.
Ensure key initiatives and annual work plans are communicated effectively across departments.
3. Ensure the company is well positioned to meet key challenges ahead
Act as a strategic assessor to identify capability gaps, recommend solutions, and propose appropriate changes.
Stay updated with industry developments and emerging trends to adopt best practices that enhance company reputation.
Work closely with industry partners, technology vendors, suppliers, and regulatory institutions on innovative and sustainable developments.
Leverage market intelligence and strategic studies to identify growth and market expansion opportunities.
4. Undertake strategic research and market intelligence to maintain a competitive advantage
Lead prototype technology projects by fostering strong collaboration between tech partners, suppliers, and internal operational units.
Conduct competitive intelligence gathering and benchmarking studies to shape strategic insights for the team.
Identify potential threats and opportunities and propose relevant action plans.
Review implementation processes to track and report key milestones and performance indicators.
Provide regular coaching and guidance to internal stakeholders within the Business Development and Strategy function.
5. Manage and oversee strategic business development opportunities for expansion
Develop business opportunities aligned with the company’s strategic vision.
Drive and support incremental business by building and maintaining strategic relationships.
Conduct pre-M&A activities (e.g., due diligence) and support post-M&A integration.
Spearhead relationship building and rapport with potential stakeholders in emerging markets.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Any other ad-hoc duty & responsibility as and when assign by the Management
**Candidates with Environment Services/Facilities Management/Security/Property Management experience will have an added advantage.
