Business Development Executive — $150K OTE | Uncapped Commission | Remote

Discussion

Compensation: $50k – $80k • No equity

If you're good at B2B sales, we don't think your income should have a ceiling.

Porter, Teece & Boyd is building a national sales organization around a simple opportunity:

Businesses across the country are being pursued by creditors and commercial collection agencies for tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands, and sometimes millions of dollars.

We help those companies understand their position, audit the collection activity surrounding the claim, identify potential leverage, and pursue a more favorable resolution.

We're looking for experienced salespeople who can put us in front of the business owners and executives who need that help.

The Opportunity

This is not a salaried sales position.

It's designed for entrepreneurial sales professionals who would rather receive significant commission on the revenue they produce than trade their upside for a fixed salary.

Target OTE: $150,000+

Top-performer potential: $200,000+

Commission: Uncapped

Location: Remote

PTB engagements can generate thousands to tens of thousands of dollars in fees from a single client.

You don't need hundreds of customers to build a significant income here.

You need the right conversations.

How You Get Paid

Company-provided opportunities

• 15% of collected audit fees
• 10% of collected savings/performance fees
• 10% of collected terms-only resolution fees

Opportunities you generate yourself

• 20% of collected audit fees
• 12.5% of collected savings/performance fees
• 12.5% of collected terms-only resolution fees

There is no commission cap.

The more revenue you produce, the more you earn.

Commissions are paid on PTB fees actually collected from the client—not on the balance of the client's underlying debt.

What Can One Client Be Worth to You?

This isn't a $99/month software sale.

PTB works on substantial commercial matters.

A successful engagement can generate significant fees for the firm, which means a single client can potentially generate thousands of dollars in commission for the salesperson who originated the relationship.

Build a book of clients and the economics become very different from a traditional sales job.

Who We're Looking For

We're especially interested in people who have sold into or worked around:

• Commercial collections
• Business lending
• Factoring
• Merchant cash advance
• Financial services
• Legal services
• Commercial insurance
• Turnaround / restructuring
• B2B consulting
• Accounting / fractional CFO services
• High-ticket B2B services

If you already have relationships with business owners, CEOs, CFOs, controllers, attorneys, accountants, lenders, or other professionals who encounter businesses dealing with significant creditor issues, that's even better.

But industry experience alone isn't enough.

We're looking for someone who knows how to hunt.

Someone comfortable picking up the phone.

Someone who can open doors.

Someone who hears "no" without losing momentum.

Someone who doesn't need a manager standing over them telling them what to do next.

And someone who believes exceptional performance should result in exceptional compensation.

This Probably Isn't For You If...

You need the security of a guaranteed paycheck.

You want leads placed on your calendar all day.

You need someone constantly telling you who to call.

You dislike prospecting.

Or you're looking for a traditional 9-to-5 sales position.

There are plenty of companies offering those jobs.

We're building something different.

This Might Be For You If...

You've looked at the revenue you've generated for previous employers and thought:

"Why am I only getting a tiny piece of this?"

You want your earnings connected directly to the value you create.

You like the idea of developing your own book of business.

You can speak comfortably with business owners and senior executives.

And the idea of building toward a $150K+ income without an artificial commission ceiling gets your attention.

What PTB Does

Porter, Teece & Boyd represents businesses facing significant commercial creditor and collection matters.

We audit the activity surrounding the claim, examine the creditor and collection process, identify potential issues and leverage, and help the client pursue a more favorable resolution.

Our positioning creates a very different sales conversation from simply offering another commodity product or service.

The prospect already has a problem.

Our job is to show them there may be options they haven't considered.

What You'll Do

You'll prospect and develop relationships with businesses and referral partners who may have a need for PTB's services.

You'll identify qualified opportunities, conduct initial conversations, communicate the value of PTB's process, and move qualified prospects through our sales process.

You'll have the ability to generate your own opportunities while also working qualified opportunities provided by PTB as the company expands its marketing and business-development operation.

Compensation

Commission-only / performance-based

$150,000 target OTE

$200,000+ high-performer potential

Uncapped commissions

Higher commission rates for business you originate yourself

There is no guarantee that any individual salesperson will earn the stated OTE. Actual compensation depends on production, client payments, deal mix, lead source, and PTB fees actually collected.

One Question

If you had the ability to earn thousands of dollars from a single B2B client—and there was no ceiling on how many clients you could bring in—what would you do with the opportunity?

If your answer is "I'd go sell," we should talk.

Apply and tell us about the largest or most difficult B2B deal you've ever closed.

We care much more about what you've actually sold than how impressive your résumé looks.
