Business Development Executive
Roles & Responsibilities
We are looking for a Regional Business Development Executive to support the company’s international trading, distribution, and brokerage activities across Singapore and Southeast Asia.
The role focuses on developing supplier and client relationships, identifying cross-border business opportunities, and supporting commercial transactions involving consumer products, general merchandise, food-related products, agricultural products, industrial goods, and other traded products.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and develop new supplier, buyer, and trading partner relationships across Southeast Asia.
Support import/export and brokerage opportunities for products such as coffee, cashew nuts, agricultural products, industrial goods, consumer products, and other general commodities.
Conduct market research on pricing, supplier reliability, product demand, logistics routes, and competitor activity.
Prepare commercial proposals, quotations, supplier profiles, and client presentations.
Coordinate with suppliers, customers, freight forwarders, banks, and service providers on trade documentation and shipment matters.
Assist with due diligence on suppliers, buyers, product origin, quality standards, payment terms, and commercial risks.
Maintain regular communication with regional suppliers and clients to support long-term business relationships.
Track business leads, sales pipeline, contract status, and follow-up actions.
Support management in business planning, overseas market development, and regional partnership discussions.
Travel regionally when required for supplier visits, client meetings, trade fairs, and business development activities.
Requirements
Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree
Minimum 3 years of experience in business development, trading, import/export, wholesale trade, supply chain, regional sales, or related commercial functions.
Experience dealing with Southeast Asian suppliers, buyers, or trading partners will be an advantage.
Familiarity with Vietnam or ASEAN market practices, supplier sourcing, commercial negotiation, and cross-border business communication will be an advantage.
Basic understanding of trade documents such as invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, Incoterms, and payment terms.
Ability to evaluate supplier credibility, pricing movements, logistics constraints, and commercial risks.
Good communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship management skills.
Proficiency in English is required. Additional regional language ability, including Vietnamese, will be an advantage for communication with regional suppliers and clients.
Independent, commercially driven, detail-oriented, and able to work across different cultures and time zones.
