Business Development Manager - 5 days work week

JOB PURPOSE

To assist the Head of Department in achieving sales and customer satisfaction target through securing sales contract at good margins by expanding of customer base through market penetration and Greenfield exploration.

To support the growth of the Business Development team through sales wins and expansion of client archetypes across the Group’s business units.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Job Scope:

• Research market trends, identify potential clients, and pursue strategic partnerships to expand the company’s client base and revenue streams.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, ensuring long-term business success.

• Lead the preparation of business proposals, presentations, and tender submissions, ensuring alignment with client requirements and competitive positioning.

• Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to refine business development strategies and identify areas for growth.

• Work closely with internal teams including marketing, operations, finance, and technical departments to ensure seamless delivery of proposals and client solutions.

• Track business development opportunities from various platform, such as GeBiz, Tender Board and Ariba.

  • Tender Management – Manage end-to-end tender submissions, including technical requirements, pricing, and commercial quality proposals
  • Market Intelligence – Monitor competitive landscape, emerging industry trends, and smart building technologies that can be incorporated into the business and proposals
  • Client Development – Build relationships with asset owners or property developers, real estate investment trusts (REITs) and corporate clients to identify and pursue new business opportunities
  • Cross-functional Collaboration – Work closely with internal teams including finance and admin, operations, and subject matter experts to ensure seamless delivery of proposals and client project commencement

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Education – Diploma or Degree in Facilities Management, Estate Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field
  • Experience – Minimum of 3 to 5 years (up to 8 years for Senior BDM role) in sales, account management, or business development within the FM or built environment industry
  • Skills – Strong financial acumen for tender costing, excellent presentation skills, and proficiency in MS Office suite
  • Knowledge – Familiar with hard/soft services (M&E, Builder Works, Cleaning, Security etc.) and workplace safety regulations
  • Good to have – CFME Tier 3 or Tier 4 accreditation
