Business Development Manager - Automation Solutions
About Movel AI
Movel AI focuses on making robot deployment and operation simple and efficient for hardware companies and end users. The company’s solutions reduce deployment time and cost, enabling rapid setup and minimal training. With an intuitive interface, Movel AI allows organisations to deploy, control, and coordinate single robots or entire fleets across industries such as logistics, manufacturing, construction, and healthcare. Acting as a strategic partner rather than just a software provider, Movel AI streamlines the full robotics deployment lifecycle. The team is committed to helping organisations achieve seamless robot deployment, reduced costs, and maximised operational efficiency.
The Role
You will open and close automation deals: finding operations leaders with a material labour, throughput or safety problem, proving that automation solves it in numbers they trust, and running the deal through to signature.
Industrial automation is a considered purchase. Deals run 2 - 6 months, involve operations, engineering, finance and safety, and are usually won on a proof-of-concept before they are won on a contract. You need to be comfortable with that cycle, and disciplined enough to keep the pipeline moving while it plays out.
What you’ll do
Build Pipeline
Identify and qualify target accounts in manufacturing, warehousing, logistics and 3PL
Prospect directly into operations, supply chain and plant leadership, outbound, industry events, trade associations, referrals
Develop channel and partner relationships (system integrators, robot OEMs, distributors) where they shorten the path to the customer
Run the Deal
Lead discovery on the customer’s operation: process flow, labour cost, throughput constraints, shift patterns, safety incidents, the numbers the business case is built from
Build the business case: ROI and payback modelling, TCO, deployment scope and phasing
Scope solutions with our engineering team and shape proposals, pilot agreements and RFP responses
Coordinate pilots and proofs-of-concept, and convert them into production rollouts
Negotiate commercial terms and close: pricing, SLAs, service contracts, deployment milestones
Own the Account
Land, then expand: additional sites, additional fleets, service and support renewals
Maintain accurate pipeline and forecast
Feed market signal back to product and leadership: what customers actually ask for, what we lose on, and to whom
What you need
2+ years in B2B solution sales with a record of closing complex, multi-stakeholder deals
Experience selling into industrial buyers, manufacturing, warehousing, logistics, or adjacent capital equipment/automation/supply chain software
Comfortable holding a technical conversation: you don’t need to configure a robot, but you must be able to explain what our system does and does not do, and know when to bring an engineer in
Able to build and defend an ROI case in front of a CFO
Genuinely comfortable prospecting from a standing start; this is not an inbound-fed role
Willing to spend time on plant and warehouse floors, and to travel across Asia
Professional English; Mandarin is a strong plus
Nice to have
Existing network among operations, plant and supply chain leaders in Asia
Experience selling AMRs, AGVs, robotics, WMS or intralogistics equipment
Experience selling through system integrators or OEM partners
Familiarity with capex approval processes, tenders and government automation grants
Why this role
Early commercial hire, you shape the playbook, the territory and the ICP rather than inheriting them
Engineering team that deploys what you sell, so you can commit to outcomes and have them delivered
How to apply
Send your CV to careers@movel.ai with a short note on one complex deal you closed, what the customer’s problem was, who had to say yes, and how long it took. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
