Roles and Responsibilities


The responsibilities of Business Development Manager, Baking ingredients APA include but not limited to the following:

  • Core Focus: Growth, innovation, and cross-regional execution.
  • Marketing Integration – Partner with Marketing to turn consumer/competitor insights into tailored product concepts, value propositions, and pricing/commercialization strategies for local markets.
  • Pipeline Activation – Identify and warm up high-potential accounts via pre-sales (technical consults, feasibility, ROI), building a qualified handover pipeline for the sales team.
  • Technical Sales – Provide expert support to industrial customers and sales teams.
  • Cross-Team Leadership – Align marketing, R&D, and Baking Center on innovation and strategy.
  • Regional Collaboration – Drive projects with China and other APA teams for business expansion.
  • Client Engagement – Support managers and partners on innovation and cross-border opportunities, co-leading presentations and negotiations.
  • Performance Tracking – Monitor sales pipelines, project progress, and team performance.
  • Production Oversight – Ensure compliance across APA production facilities.
  • Group Liaison – Serve as the APA point of contact for global marketing and production teams.
  • Other relevant tasks to support the growth and innovation of baking ingredients.
  • Degree/Master with majored in Food Science, Food Engineering or related areas.
  • Around 5 years of solid working experiences in business development and food ingredients in SEA.
  • Ability to collect information, analyze and make proposals.
  • Proactive and able to work under tight deadlines.
  • Result oriented, good coordination and teamwork.
  • Immediate candidates are preferable.

General Safety & Health Responsibilities:

  • Comply with local governmental HSE regulations, with Lesaffre fundamental principles and apply the safety Policy,
  • Participate in entity safety activities and always show best examples (Rules application, PPE wearing, perform safety visits, accident analysis, safety committees…),
  • Participate actively in the risk assessment of own’s job area
  • Follow the safety action plan of own perimeter,
  • Make safety rules in your perimeter, communicate it, make sure your team understands and applied them,
  • Start all meetings (from 8 persons minimum) by a safety contact,
  • Encourage safe acts and discourage each time you see unsafe acts,
  • Report unsafe conditions / acts and near misses to the managers,
  • Report within 12 hours all recordable accidents to the next level of management,
  • Report each month all recordable accidents and first aids happened in your perimeter,
  • Participate in the target-setting process for the safety KPIs,
  • Be a part of recognition & sanction program.

Safety & Health Responsibilities within Sales Force & Marketing:

  • Respect company rule regarding travel safety,
  • Apply our safety rules over and above those of our customers if there are no similar rules (safety shoes, goggles, etc.),
  • Apply and respect safe driving rules,
  • Make sure all gift or external communication supports are online with “safety spirit” (good for health, safe, environmentally friendly).
