Seeking an experienced Business Development Manager, who has a proven track
record in sales and/or business development, for
a well-regarded Engineering Consulting business with a national presence. This
full-time opportunity based in Brisbane will require a highly motivated, sales
focussed individual to drive business growth and enhance brand presence specifically
in the QLD & NSW markets.
The key responsibilities include (but are not
limited to):
Business Development & Strategy
- Identify and engage potential clients to create new business
opportunities (approx. 80% of the role).
- Expand, embed and grow consulting revenue with legal, loss
assessors and insurance clients across QLD and NSW.
- Assist in the development, planning and execution of sales strategy
with the National Business Manager in accordance with the business plan.
- Represent the company at networking events, exhibitions, and
conferences to grow the company's presence and pipeline.
Client Relationships
- Manage and grow relationships with key existing clients to drive
repeat business (approx. 20% of the role).
- Build and maintain strong relationships across a variety of
industries, with a focus on legal, loss assessing, insurance, building,
and remediation.
- Develop and implement regular client interaction and visit plans
aligned with the broader business strategy.
- Monitor and enhance client satisfaction through consistent
follow-ups and feedback.
Sales Process Management
- Manage the full sales cycle to achieve revenue growth targets.
- Ensure timely delivery of services and maintain high standards to
build client confidence in our technical expertise.
Collaboration & Representation
- Work closely with the company's technical experts and sales team to tailor
solutions that meet client needs.
- Foster strong internal communication and collaboration to deliver
seamless service.
The Ideal Candidate…
The ideal candidate will require the
following:
- At least 5 years’ experience in a B2B technical service sales role, professional
services or similar.
- A relevant qualification in a sales,
marketing or related business area is an advantage, but not essential.
- Excellent communication skills (both oral
and written) and relationship-building skills.
- Experience identifying potential clients
and proactively engaging them.
- A curious and solutions focussed mindset,
with the ability to work with internal technical experts to assist clients
with technical problems and provide value-based solutions.
- Ability to make decisions in a timely,
cost effective and efficient manner.
- Experience developing and/or implementing
strategic business development plans in line with broader business plans.
- High level of commercial acumen,
including proposal and quote preparation as well as contract negotiations.
- Experience with preparing, managing or
account managing SLAs, EOIs, tender processes etc.
- Ability to represent the Company at
Industry events, supported by technical experts.
- Superior computer literacy (Outlook, Word
& Excel) and client data management skills within a CRM system.
- Willing and able to travel intrastate and
interstate for client meetings, conferences and exhibitions as required.
- Highly driven and self-motivated.
- Have own car and current driver’s
license.
- Must have Australian working rights.
