Business Development Manager - Denmark

The role of the Business Development Manager is to increase Helvar sales revenue through proactive development of the local market & region. This is a home-office-based role; however, you will be expected to travel regularly to meet customers, predominantly in and around the Copenhagen area. This includes opening new Channels, acquiring new Customers, influencing Building owners, Specifiers, Consultants, and end-users to choose Helvar products and solutions. In parallel the enhancement of existing Partner relationships and supporting our Partner(s) with Helvar project specifications, Marketing activities and training. This is a commercially focused role that blends business development, key account management, new business sales and relationship management, however, a credible level of technical understanding is also required to engage with various parts of the project sales community. You act as a consultant and trusted advisor to your Partners and customers, helping to grow not just Helvar’s business, but their business as well, helping them to generate more business and to bid for and close high value projects.

Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of Helvar business relationships and revenue growth with locally assigned Partners
  • Proactively hunt for and develop new business opportunities together with regional Partners, managing and negotiating project deals
  • Make specifier engagement a key focus, proactively building andmaintaininga strong network of consultants to increase the specification of Helvar solutions across relevant projects.
  • Ensuring significant market activity by Helvar and Helvar Partners including sales, marketing, and events
  • Providetimelyandaccuratemonthly and tertial revenue forecasts
  • Proactively work with Partners to design, develop, and execute growth-focused business and activity plans, agreeing on mutual performanceobjectives, financial targets, and associated critical milestones.
  • Ensure Partners have an in-depth knowledge of Helvar solutions (both sales and technical) to enable them to independently build consistent monthly revenues and guarantee end-user satisfaction.
  • Share Helvar best practices in managing project & specification sales.
  • Coordinate the involvement of required Helvar resources including product management, marketing,logisticsand technical support whererequiredto deliver a best-in-class Partner experience.
  • Demonstrate methodical and precise usage ofHelvar’sCRM system (Salesforce) to constantly build a growing sales pipeline of projects with Partners and to enableaccuratesales forecasting.
  • Deeply understand the local competitor landscape. Analyse and define relevant Helvar advantages and competitor disadvantages to Partners, specifiers, consultants, end users etc.
  • Be the voice of the Partner for new requirements and product development.
  • Become the local figurehead and thought leader for lighting controls, building a visible profile in the local community, sharing best practices in the use of lighting controls to save energy and improve wellbeing

Requirements

  • Experience in managing channel sales programs and sales strategies
  • Procedural driven approach to allow effective streamlining of repetitive sales processes
  • Understanding of the end-to-end sales process from theinitialspecification phase to project delivery
  • Collaborative approach with awareness of the distinct differences in working practices and expectations of different project stakeholders
  • Innovative approach to commercial negotiations relevant to diverse cultural backgrounds and regions of business
  • Good technicalexpertiseand ability to act as application consultant to ensure most effective solution is achieved
  • Able to provide basic product training to Partner’s own sales teams to increase their own sales capabilities
  • Proventrack recordof sales success
  • Ideally some experience from the Lighting, Lighting Control and/or Building Automation industry would be beneficial.
