Business Development Manager (Energy)
- Develop and implement commercial strategies for the organisation’s energy-related activities.
- Identify business opportunities across conventional fuels, renewable energy, alternative fuels and environmental products.
- Evaluate new markets, projects, investments and strategic partnerships.
- Build and maintain relationships with energy producers, suppliers, traders, customers, regulators and industry partners.
- Lead commercial negotiations and support the structuring of supply, trading and partnership agreements.
- Monitor energy-market fundamentals, pricing trends, regulations and geopolitical developments.
- Prepare market analyses, financial evaluations and commercial recommendations for senior leadership.
- Develop business cases and assess the commercial viability of new projects.
- Lead or coordinate energy projects from initial concept through execution and operational handover.
- Work closely with commercial, operational, technical, finance, legal and sustainability teams.
- Identify and manage commercial, operational, regulatory and counterparty risks.
- Monitor project budgets, financial performance and agreed commercial objectives.
- Support decarbonisation and energy-transition initiatives, including low-carbon fuels and emissions-reduction solutions.
- Represent the organisation at industry conferences, working groups and stakeholder meetings.
- Provide leadership, coaching and guidance to team members.
- Prepare management reports, forecasts and presentations on energy-market developments and business performance.
- Atleast 5 years of experience in the Industry
Requirements
- Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Energy or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of relevant experience within the energy sector, preferably across commercial, business-development, project or trading functions.
- A minimum of three to five years of experience in a management or team-leadership capacity.
- Strong understanding of energy markets, pricing mechanisms, supply chains and regulatory developments.
- Experience evaluating and delivering energy-related projects or commercial initiatives.
- Familiarity with conventional fuels, renewable energy, alternative fuels or environmental products.
- Proven ability to develop partnerships and negotiate complex commercial agreements.
- Strong financial, analytical and strategic-thinking capabilities.
- Sound understanding of risk management and project economics.
- Effective leadership, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to work across multidisciplinary and international teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant analytical tools.
