BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER (GEOTECHNICAL)

Responsibilities
- Develop new client relationships and secure new projects to achieve sales and profitability targets.
- Gather market intelligence and identify potential business opportunities.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and key industry stakeholders.
- Maintain a strong understanding of market developments, industry trends and the competitive landscape.
- Review bid proposals prepared by the tender team and support bid decisions together with management.
- Act as Bid Manager for selected large-scale projects.
- Collaborate closely with business development, tender, engineering and operational teams.
- Lead commercial negotiations with clients on bid terms and contract conditions.
- Support and develop tender and business development team members through coaching, knowledge sharing and performance management.
- Develop and protect the organisation’s corporate image and market reputation.
- Support geotechnical solution development and commercial positioning for clients.
- Manage stakeholder expectations and resolve commercial or project-related issues where required.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Approximately 8 to 12 years of relevant working experience.
- Strong experience in the construction or engineering industry.
- Experience in geotechnical engineering and ground improvement works will be highly advantageous.
- Geotechnical design experience and the ability to manage geotechnical solution development are preferred.
- Good understanding of commercial and contractual aspects of construction projects.
- Strong business development, networking and client relationship management skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management capabilities.
- Strong leadership, decision-making and conflict management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Office 365 applications.
