Drive the growth of the Bilfinger nZero brand as a leader in the gas measurement and analysis market for both the upstream and downstream energy sector, by winning profitable project opportunities from the National Gas Transmission and Regional Gas Distribution network companies (or others as requested), as their Key Account Manager.
Business Development & Sales:
- Lead and manage the end-to-end sales process for the key accounts and others as needed, including business development, quotations, and closure.
- Support the profitability targets of the sales department in-line with Annual Plan.
- Ensure customer satisfaction is maintained enabling repeat business.
- Ensure margin and cash flow expectations are in-line with group parameters.
- Work closely with sales and engineering teams to align efforts and goals.
- Develop and maintain strategic business partnerships to drive sales opportunities
- Identify and evaluate market opportunities to expand the Bilfinger's portfolio within the key accounts.
- Gather market intelligence, client requirements, and insights from local conferences to influence product development and R&D strategies that may benefit customers.
- Contribute to market analysis and demand forecasting to anticipate future sales trends.
- Contribute to annual budgets and forecasts.
Bid Management:
- Identify, evaluate, and manage bid opportunities for via Salesforce ensuring all opportunities are listed and up to date.
- Lead the preparation, submission, and follow-up of bids and proposals, ensuring compliance and competitive positioning.
- Maintain a database of bid performance and continuously refine proposal strategies.
Customer Relationship Management
- Support strong relationships with customers, understanding their needs and preferences.
- Address customer enquiries, concerns, and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
- Ensure regular face to face contacts are developed and maintained.
- Support contract negotiations as required.
- Be the first point of call for all customer concerns and enquiries – be their ‘solutions provider’ where ever possible.
Compliance & Quality Assurance:
- Work in accordance with the company’s procedures and ensure compliance with all requirements.
- Support internal and external audits to maintain high standards in operations and business processes.
- Promote best practices in quality, security, and compliance across the business.
Essential skills
- HNC or equivalent in Engineering, preferably related to the oil and gas industry.
- Strong commercial acumen with an understanding of contracting business models and project-driven sales strategies.
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or leadership within a technology-focused division.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to analyse market trends, develop strategic insights, and drive business growth.
- Experience in bid and project management
- Strong organizational, planning, and multitasking abilities.
- IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite and CRM tools.
- Willingness to travel for national conferences, client meetings, and business development opportunities.
