Business Development Manager
The Business Development Manager will implement a defined, targeted sales strategy within an established territory to ensure consistent revenue growth and the achievement of sales goals. This BD Manager understands, promotes and protects MSI’s value proposition within the marketplace while developing and sustaining long-term relationships with Owners, Architects, Engineers, General and Sub Contractors within the Commercial Construction Market.
To effectively support our regional business objectives and customers, candidates must be based in Virginia, Pennsylvania,
or Maryland.
POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plans and executes sales activities in support of company sales goals and objectives.
- Develops new relationships and business opportunities within an established territory.
- Meets/exceeds monthly sales goals.
- Plans and executes large project sales activities using Dodge and other lead resources. Maintains a large project focus by calling on all stakeholders of large, targeted projects.
- Partners with “Top Account” personnel as a trusted advisor by establishing, maintaining and growing long-term business relationships.
- Develops an understanding of the project requirements and leads all business development conversations with MSI’s labor-saving services.
- Effectively qualifies customers for Commercial Engineered Services (CES). Partners with CES to gather and close-out all project documentation and final transactions.
- Works closely with Product Support group to develop custom products that meet project specifications. Assists as needed in the development of new or special products.
- Prepares and delivers formal presentations to customers on proposed services/products.
- Attends and assists with preparations for trade shows.
- Proactively communicates with the customer to ensure all commitments and obligations for the customer are met and/or exceeded throughout the project/order and provides ongoing support to ensure all needs are met.
- Maintains a high level of communication with inside partners.
- Investigates customer complaints regarding non-conforming or unacceptable products and recommends corrective action.
- Keeps sales manager informed on competitive products, promotional matters, sales techniques, pricing, and market changes.
- Completes and submits timely sales reports on major project activities through CRM or other sources. Makes manager aware of sales volume, field issues/concerns, expenses, etc.
