Business Development Manager - Perth

NewBe an early applicant

About the opportunity

Perth has an incredible dining scene and plenty of untapped potential for First Table. We’re looking for a driven, food-loving Business Development Manager to help us grow our presence across the city.

As a relatively new market for First Table, this role has a strong focus on new customer acquisition. You’ll be opening doors, building relationships with restaurant owners and hospitality leaders, and turning opportunities into long-term restaurant partners.

If you love the hunt for new business, get a buzz from winning customers and enjoy having ownership of a market, this could be the role for you.

Backed by an established brand, a proven proposition and a collaborative team across Australia, New Zealand and the UK, you’ll have the freedom to own your territory and make a real impact.

This is a remote-first role with regular in-person meetings with restaurant partners across Perth.

About us

At First Table, our vision is simple: to be the first place diners go to book a table.

Proudly established in Queenstown, New Zealand – where our head office is based – we’ve been leading the charge in hospitality tech for over a decade, with operations spanning New Zealand, Australia and the UK.

First Table is a dining discovery platform that connects diners with restaurants through their love of food. Through our clever tech, we help restaurants get their night off to a great start while giving diners a compelling reason to try somewhere new. From early bird offers to last table reservations, we make discovering and booking great dining experiences fast, easy and rewarding.

At the heart of everything we do are our values: Grow Together, Win-Win-Win and Own It. They guide how we show up for each other, our restaurant partners and our diners.

About the role

As the Business Development Manager for Perth, you’ll be responsible for growing First Table’s restaurant network across your territory.

Your focus will be on identifying and approaching prospective restaurant partners, understanding their commercial needs and showing them how First Table can support their business.

You’ll own opportunities from prospecting and first conversation through to securing the partnership and onboarding. You’ll spend plenty of time out in market meeting restaurant owners and operators face-to-face, while using local knowledge and market insights to identify where the best opportunities are.

You’ll be supported by an experienced wider team, clear systems and regular coaching, while retaining the autonomy to manage your territory and build momentum in the Perth market.

What you’ll be doing

  • Own and grow the Perth market by identifying and winning new restaurant partners.
  • Build a healthy sales pipeline through proactive prospecting, networking and territory planning.
  • Turn leads into customers by understanding restaurant needs and clearly communicating the value of First Table.
  • Own opportunities from first contact through to onboarding and successful launch.
  • Build trusted, long-term relationships with restaurant owners and hospitality groups.
  • Stay close to Perth’s hospitality landscape, using market and competitor insights to uncover new opportunities.
  • Collaborate with the wider First Table team to deliver a seamless experience for restaurant partners.

What you’ll bring

  • Proven success in business development, field sales, partnerships or another customer-facing sales role with a strong new-business focus.
  • A track record of proactively building pipeline and converting opportunities into customers.
  • Confidence building rapport quickly and influencing business owners and decision-makers.
  • Familiarity with the hospitality industry is a massive plus, and existing contacts within Perth’s restaurant scene will push you to the top of the queue.
  • A self-starter mentality and commercial mindset – you’re comfortable working autonomously, creating your own opportunities and going after them.
  • You don’t need to have done this exact role before, but you’ll have the spark to get someone excited about trying something new and the follow-through to make it happen.
  • A current Australian driver’s licence and access to your own reliable vehicle.
  • A “can do” attitude and the drive to grow with us.

Why you’ll love working with us

  • A full-time role with flexible working hours and the autonomy to manage your own schedule.
  • The opportunity to play a genuine role in growing and shaping First Table’s presence in Perth.
  • Remote-first, but never remote-feeling, with regular coaching and support from your manager and wider team.
  • Competitive OTE (base salary + commissions), plus travel allowance, laptop and phone.
  • Free First Table bookings as a team perk – perfect for fellow food lovers.
  • Team-wide recognition, referral incentives and regular opportunities to celebrate wins.
  • Be part of a purpose-led, award-winning brand that champions exceptional dining experiences and values creativity, collaboration and growth.
