Business Development Manager
The Business Development Manager shall address the Defense, Civil and Public Security domains in Philippines, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. He/She will be working closely with the Country Director to support Thales Group’s objectives within the assigned countries.
Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and end-users to position the full Thales portfolio, driving both short-term wins and long-term strategic opportunities.
- Establish and nurture partnerships within the local industry ecosystem to strengthen Thales’ market presence and collaborative opportunities.
- Develop and execute strategic Business Capture Plans in close collaboration with Thales Exporting Units, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
- Actively contribute to the identification and qualification of new business opportunities. Define and implement winning strategies supported by actionable plans. Participate inopportunity and tender reviews to maximise success rates.
- Provide insights on market trends, competitive landscape, business risks and potential opportunities. Maintain and update business pipeline data, in coordination with Exporting Units.
- Monitor and report on changes within customer organisations, including decision-making processes, to inform strategic engagement.
- Support through-life system performance by collaborating on program execution, including maintenance, training, and other customer support activities.
- Contribute to Thales’s strategy development and develop robust Key Account Plans to drive sustainable growth.
Requirements:
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in Business Development/Sales/Account Management.
- Experience working with government and/or complex agencies. Experience in the defense industry is mandatory.
- Proven experience in working within a large multi-national organisation.
- Experience and knowledge in hi-tech industry.
- Significant experience in complex business dealings with geographically dispersed internal and external stakeholders.
- Has experience working in or managing customers in Asia.
- Highly motivated to operate in a complex business environment.
- Strong business ethics.
