Business Development Manager, Third Party Remarketing

This is a high-impact, remote opportunity focused on growing third-party remarketing relationships and expanding revenue through strategic business development. You will own the full sales cycle, from prospecting and lead generation through proposals, negotiations, onboarding, and relationship development. The role combines consultative selling, automotive and fleet expertise, analytics, and strategic planning. You will work closely with internal teams, dealers, clients, and industry partners to create tailored remarketing solutions. Your work will directly influence client outcomes, vehicle disposition performance, and overall business growth. The position offers a dynamic environment for a commercially driven professional who enjoys building relationships and turning market opportunities into lasting partnerships. Approximately 25–30% travel is expected to support client meetings, auctions, conferences, and other business activities.
Accountabilities:
- Lead the full business development lifecycle, including prospecting, lead generation, sales calls, data analysis, proposal development, negotiations, and onboarding of new third-party customers.
- Identify and secure new clients with owned vehicles and repossessed assets, developing relationships that generate remarketing service revenue and long-term business opportunities.
- Build and execute annual strategic plans with clear milestones, deliverables, timelines, and cross-functional engagement.
- Develop and support strategic initiatives that strengthen vehicle remarketing capabilities, differentiate service offerings, and position the business as a trusted industry expert.
- Design and execute marketing campaigns and auction promotions while evaluating vehicle pricing, disposal strategies, and vendor effectiveness.
- Understand customer and prospect business objectives, dealer needs, and vehicle disposition challenges, translating them into tailored remarketing solutions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with dealers, commercial accounts, prospects, clients, and internal stakeholders across multiple functions.
- Develop compelling sales proposals and deliver executive-level presentations that clearly communicate value, strategy, and expected outcomes.
- Monitor remarketing performance and identify opportunities to expand existing relationships, improve vehicle disposition outcomes, and contribute to financial performance.
- Communicate regularly with clients regarding asset disposition while ensuring a high-quality and cohesive customer experience.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in vehicle remarketing, automotive sales, fleet management, auction operations, or a related field, with a strong understanding of end-to-end vehicle remarketing processes.
- Demonstrated business development experience, including prospecting, lead generation, pipeline development, opportunity management, and closing new business.
- Experience onboarding and expanding third-party client relationships, from needs assessment and solution development through negotiation, implementation, and ongoing relationship management.
- Proven ability to develop relationships with dealer and commercial accounts and understand their vehicle disposition requirements and business objectives.
- Strong consultative selling skills, with the ability to communicate the value of professional remarketing services and develop client-specific value propositions.
- Strong financial acumen, analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and commercial judgment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Automotive Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant professional experience may be considered.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance, repair, manufacturer warranties, vehicle manufacturers, and upfit considerations is preferred.
- Strong relationship-building and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across internal and external teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to present solutions to executive-level audiences.
- Willingness and ability to travel approximately 25–30% to auctions, client and prospect meetings, industry conferences, and other business events.
- Base salary range of $101,900–$140,140 annually, depending on qualifications, experience, location, internal equity, and relevant market data.
