The Company

The company was founded in 1994 and is one of Australia’s leading suppliers of all things in, on, and around concrete. They also provide wholesale distribution of industrial concrete supplies to trade stores throughout Australia. With the recent growth in their business, they are seeking a full-time Business Development Representative to join the Active Trade Wholesale division.


The Position…

This position will require you to support the Business Development team within the Wholesale division to achieve sales targets and deliver customer satisfaction. This will involve maintaining existing customer relationships, as well as, seeking out and building new business opportunities. Whilst you’ll be involved in seeking out new business for existing applications of the company’s product & service offering, you’ll also be tasked with identifying new market segments and building new clientele in these segments. This position will require travel, by growing the business while seeing all corners of Australia.

Day-to-day duties and responsibilities will include:

  • answering inquiries and processing orders received via phone and/or email
  • growing the business with new opportunities as well as maintaining current database of customers
  • upsell call outs
  • freight call outs
  • chasing freight
  • chasing debts


The Ideal Candidate…

The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:

  • Experience in building relationships with potential clients via cold calls, networking & other avenues.
  • Past sales experience (highly desirable)
  • Basic Maths and grammar
  • Confident negotiation skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including effective time management and excellent organisation skills
