JOB SUMMARY
The Business Development Specialist (BDS) will identify target companies to which Fleet Team can provide value and help implement strategies to engage them. They will work in partnership with the Director of Business Development and the Marketing team to engage potential leads and convert them to warm prospects through a variety of methods, including social media, email, phone, and in-person interactions. With your industry and product knowledge, you are the front line of Fleet Team’s business development efforts, campaigns, and content.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Prospect and cultivate new leads through creative lead generation methods in addition to lead generation methods maintained by the Marketing team through Salesforce marketing automation platform.
- Engage new business leads and prospects via social media, email, phone, and in-person, with the goal of expanding knowledge of Fleet Team’s brand and connecting with key decision makers.
- Manage business development pipeline activity and reporting within Salesforce, creating actionable intelligence for BDMs.
- In conjunction with the Marketing team and Director of Business Development, support the creation of business development-focused content to position Fleet Team as a subject matter expert in managing mobile equipment assets and saving clients on their total cost of ownership.
- Assist with drafting business plans, sales pitches, presentations, reference materials and scopes of work as requested by BDMs or Director of Business Development.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with various levels of management, staff, and clients (from C-Suite to Operations).
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s in business management, sales, marketing or related field; Or equivalent experience that would justify an exception.
EXPERIENCE
- 0-2 years of B2B business development/sales experience.
- Experience working with marketing partners and campaigns preferred.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

- Foundational understanding of business principles and return on investment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
