Business Install Base Manager
Description -
The Business Install Base (IB) Manager is the strategic end-to-end owner of HP’s Industrial Print install base lifecycle - from New Product Introduction through mid-life, aging, and End-of-Service .
In this role, you will ensure that installed systems are actively managed to maximize customer value, operational continuity, and profitable growth.
You will execute the lifecycle strategy, lead upgrade, EOS, and end-of-lease conversion programs, and develop pricing models that support and accelerate hardware sales. You will also own global governance, KPI frameworks, and management reporting, while partnering with IT and COE teams on HP’s AI-driven transformation for IB management.
This is a high-visibility role that requires strong cross-functional leadership and collaboration across Product, Service, Sales, Finance, Category, and IT.
Responsibilities:
Full Lifecycle Ownership - Execute the global lifecycle strategy for the Industrial Print install base, embed lifecycle requirements into NPI, including upgradeability and serviceability, and build a multi-year roadmap covering early-life adoption, mid-life upgrades, aging press management, and EOS transitions.
Aging Press Strategy (5–7+ Years) - Define upgrade and replacement paths, model service cost, risk, and customer value, and develop customer communication frameworks.
End-of-Service (EOS) Management - Work with the relevant functions to define EOS timelines, governance, and migration offers, and drive customer transitions to newer platforms.
End-of-Lease (EoL) Conversion - Lead the end-of-lease conversion strategy to drive new hardware sales and reduce BB cost, while building dashboards to track conversion performance.
Incremental Revenue Growth - Initiate leads for revenue generation through HW options, accessories, VAS, software, and lifecycle programs, identify attach opportunities, and partner with Sales on targeted plays.
Pricing Strategy - Create pricing models for EoL incentives, promotions, lifecycle bridges, and full portfolio pricing across HW, service, supplies, and solutions, and build business cases and validate financial impact with Finance.
Global Program Leadership & Governance - Lead worldwide lifecycle programs, drive cross-functional alignment, and establish governance to support consistent execution across regions.
KPI Framework & Management Reporting - Define global KPIs and targets for lifecycle performance, deliver reporting on install base health, upgrade adoption, EOS pipeline, EoL conversions, and incremental revenue, and present insights to senior leadership.
AI-Driven Transformation - Lead the AI roadmap for IB management, deploy AI/ML use cases including predictive aging, upgrade scoring, segmentation, smart pricing, and EoL prioritization, and partner with COE and IT to scale solutions.
Education & Experience Recommended
7+ years of experience in lifecycle, product, business, or commercial management.
Experience in industrial equipment, printing, capital goods, or a similar environment.
Proven track record managing install base or aftermarket revenue.
Experience leading global, cross-functional programs.
Knowledge & Skills
Strong understanding of capital equipment lifecycle economics.
Expertise in business cases, pricing models, and financial analysis.
Data-driven decision-making and strong analytical capability.
Familiarity with service models, upgrades, and EOS frameworks.
Exposure to AI/ML and digital transformation is preferred.
Excellent cross-functional leadership and stakeholder management skills.
Strategic thinker with strong execution discipline and customer focus.
Comfortable with ambiguity, results-driven, and with a bias for action.
Understanding of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
