About the Role

We’re looking for a highly analytical Business Intelligence Analyst - Power BI (Data and Accounting Analyst) with strong experience in Power BI, financial data analysis, and business intelligence reporting. You’ll develop interactive dashboards, automate reporting processes, analyse financial and operational data, and translate complex information into meaningful insights that support strategic decision-making. This role is ideal for someone who combines technical reporting expertise with a sound understanding of financial performance, budgeting, and business operations.

Ideal Candidate (Must Have Requirements)

• Strong hands on experience using Power BI to develop, maintain, and optimise interactive dashboards and reports.

• Proficiency in data modelling, data transformation, and building effective data visualisations in Power BI.

• Experience working with DAX, Power Query, and data relationships to develop reliable and insightful reports.

• Experience connecting, consolidating, and analysing data from multiple sources.

• Strong understanding of financial reporting, performance metrics, and business intelligence concepts.

• Ability to analyse complex datasets, identify trends and anomalies, and translate findings into actionable business insights.

• Experience automating recurring reports and improving reporting efficiency through Power BI and related tools.

• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills for data analysis, validation, and reporting.

• Ability to gather reporting requirements from stakeholders and translate business needs into practical dashboard solutions.

• Strong analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills, with excellent attention to detail.

• Strong written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to explain data insights to nontechnical stakeholders.

• Ability to manage multiple reporting projects and deadlines while maintaining data accuracy.

• A background in accounting, finance, financial planning, or management reporting is preferred to support the interpretation of financial data.

• Experience with SQL, additional business intelligence tools, or integrating data from ERP and financial systems is highly regarded.

• Experience in reporting automation, data governance, or business process improvement initiatives is highly regarded.

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance interactive Power BI dashboards and reports for financial and operational performance monitoring.

• Transform, clean, validate, and consolidate data from multiple sources to support accurate and consistent reporting.

• Build and maintain data models, DAX measures, calculated columns, and Power Query transformations to support reporting requirements.

• Analyse financial and operational datasets to identify trends, patterns, variances, risks, and opportunities for improvement.

• Design and automate recurring reports to improve reporting efficiency, accuracy, and accessibility.

• Translate business requirements into meaningful visualisations, performance indicators, and reporting solutions.

• Develop dashboards to monitor key performance indicators, financial results, budgets, forecasts, and business performance.

• Collaborate with finance teams and other stakeholders to understand reporting needs and deliver actionable insights.

• Investigate data discrepancies, validate report outputs, and maintain the accuracy and integrity of reporting datasets.

• Optimise existing Power BI reports, data models, and dashboards to improve performance, usability, and scalability.

• Support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial performance reviews through data driven reporting.

• Identify opportunities to streamline reporting workflows, improve data quality, and automate manual processes.

• Document reporting logic, data sources, dashboard specifications, and processes to support consistency and maintainability.

• Support the integration of data from financial systems, ERP platforms, spreadsheets, and other business applications.

• Stay updated on Power BI capabilities, reporting best practices, and business intelligence solutions to continuously improve reporting processes.
