Potentia is delighted to collaborate with Enable Networks, Christchurch’s fibre broadband provider, in the search for a talented Business Intelligence Developer who will help shape how data is used across the organisation.

Enable connects people, businesses, and schools with a world-class fibre broadband network.

This is a permanent role and requires candidates to be Christchurch-based.

The Role
As the Business Intelligence Developer, you'll combine strong technical capability with commercial and business understanding, developing BI solutions that provide trusted, actionable insights. You'll work closely with stakeholders across Enable, taking ownership of projects and using your expertise to identify opportunities to improve, automate, and simplify the way data is used.
This is an exciting time to join the team, with various data and technology initiatives underway. You’ll have the opportunity to get involved from the beginning, taking ownership of projects and contributing to Enable’s ongoing evolution, including its move towards Cloud-based technologies.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Developing and maintaining Power BI datasets, dashboards and reporting solutions that help the business make better decisions.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders across Enable to understand their needs, ask the right questions and turn business requirements into practical BI solutions.
  • Playing a key role in data and technology initiatives, including Enable’s transition to Cloud-based data and services.
  • Developing and improving Enable’s data warehouse and ETL processes, while looking for ways to improve the quality and usability of data.
  • Taking ownership of BI initiatives from concept through to delivery, bringing stakeholders along the way.
  • Identifying opportunities to automate, simplify and improve reporting and data processes across the business.
  • Providing advice on BI, reporting and data, helping stakeholders get greater value from Enable’s data.
  • Supporting data governance, quality and BI standards across the organisation.
What You’ll Bring
  • Proven experience in Business Intelligence Development, BI Analysis or a similar role.
  • Strong SQL skills and experience working with data warehouse environments.
  • Experience developing Power BI datasets, dashboards and reporting solutions.
  • Hands on experience working with SQL Server and associated BI technologies such as SSIS, SSRS, SSAS and Visual Studio.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to communicate with non-technical audiences.
  • A high level of autonomy, with the ability to balance day-to-day BI responsibilities with new initiatives and continuous improvement.
  • A practical, solutions-focused approach to improving how data and reporting are used across the business.
  • Exposure to modern Cloud technologies would be advantageous.
