As a Business Management Analyst – Level 3 your role at Chandler, AZ will be pivotal in supporting missions critical to national and global security. This is not a traditional functional analyst position. This position is designed for an exceptional early-mid career professional who enjoys solving difficult business problems through data, analysis, and strategic thinking. The successful candidate will work across every aspect of the business, partnering with leaders in Engineering, Program Management, Operations, Finance, Business Development, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing to help drive growth, improve business performance, and support executive decision making.

The Strategic Business Analyst serves as a flexible analytical resource to Business Unit leadership, working wherever the organization’s highest-priority business challenges exist. Projects span strategy, operations, finance, program execution, business development, and organizational transformation. No two projects will be the same. This role offers broad exposure to the business and the opportunity to influence high-impact decisions that shape the future of Launch Systems.

This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.

Your Role and Impact:

  • Strategic Planning & Business Integration: support development and execution of the Business Unit Long Range Strategic Plan (LRSP); Integrate strategic priorities into executive messaging, investment planning, operating roadmaps, annual operating plans, and business cases; Conduct market, competitive, and customer analyses to support strategic decision making.
  • Strategic Initiatives: lead high-visibility, cross-functional projects sponsored by Business Unit leadership; structure ambiguous business challenges into actionable analytical frameworks; develop project plans, coordinate stakeholders, and drive initiatives through implementation; present recommendations and progress to executive leadership.
  • Business Performance: analyze operational, financial, and program performance to identify opportunities to improve growth, profitability, cash flow, schedule execution, and operational efficiency; perform root-cause analysis on business performance issues and develop recommendations for corrective action; build financial models and scenario analyses to support investment and operational decisions.
  • Growth & Business Development: support capture strategy and deal design for strategic pursuits; develop business cases supporting new products, investments, partnerships, and strategic initiatives; evaluate emerging markets, customer trends, and competitive positioning.
  • Data Analytics & Decision Support: develop executive dashboards and key performance indicators that improve visibility into business performance; automate recurring reporting and improve data quality and accessibility across the business; leverage analytical tools to transform large, complex datasets into actionable business insights.
  • Executive Communications: develop executive briefings, presentations, and decision-support materials for senior leadership; clearly communicate complex analytical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences; support Business Unit operating reviews, strategic reviews, and customer engagements.
  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 3 years of professional experience – OR – PhD with 1 year of professional experience
  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret security clearance
  • Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Data Analytics, Operations Research, Industrial Engineering or Mathematics
  • Experience building financial models and performing data analysis

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or Master’s degree in Business Analytics, Finance, Data Science, Operations Research or Engineering Management
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python, R, Alteryx, or similar analytics tools
  • Experience developing executive dashboards and performance metrics
  • Knowledge of financial planning, forecasting, pricing or investment analysis
  • Experience supporting strategic planning, business development, consulting or corporate strategy
  • Familiarity with Lean, Six Sigma or continuous improvement methodologies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams
  • Strong executive presence with the ability to communicate effectively with senior leaders

Primary Level Salary Range: $81,400.00 - $122,000.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
