Business Management Lead - COO

The role is a great opportunity for someone within a line of business to get visibility of the broader sector, exposure to senior stakeholders, and interaction with the group teams. The role supports not only the M&L PM Director, but also the COO of the Sector, meaning it is a broad and varied opportunity for the right-minded individual to shape it and add real value. This role will provide you with the opportunity to develop your career within BAE Systems due to exposure gained across multiple business areas.

This role can be based at any UK site and will involve regular (monthly/ quarterly) travel around other M&L sites.

Your main responsibilities as Business Management Lead will include\:

· Provide oversight to the Project Management Team for Business Management / Operational aspects within the Chief Operating Officer (COO)

· This includes ensuring the key role holders within these processes are engaged and ready to be managed through.

· Coordinate and manage meetings for the function on behalf of senior leadership and lead when delegated.

· Lead the COO Goals strategy and own the reporting cycle, obtaining updates and action plans to ensure delivery across all functions and within the enabling pillars, providing progress reporting to the COO & SLT members.

· Provide support and sharing of best practice across the M&L Functions within the COO

Your skills and qualifications\:

· Excellent communication, leadership, creative thinking, and collaboration skills. You’ll need to work across functions and lines of business to collaborate and influence without hierarchy

· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on data-driven decision-making.

· Ideally a good understanding of process improvement methodologies, governance & assurance, business management tools, and financial principles

· Good knowledge of project management tools and techniques, with a keen ability to prioritise and manage multiple activities.

· The role holder could come from a variety of backgrounds including HR, Business Management, Project Management, Legal, Engineering, Commercial etc

Location\: Any UK M&L site, with regular travel between sites (monthly/ quarterly travel)
