# Business Manager ## Company Overview Star Agriwarehousing and Collateral Management Limited is a dynamic company focused on innovative solutions in the agri-commodities sector, with a specific focus on plant-based protein distribution. ## Job Summary The Head – Plant Based Protein Distribution will play a critical role in establishing and leading StarAgri's Plant-Based Protein Distribution vertical. This entrepreneurial leader will be responsible for developing business strategies, building supply and distribution networks, and achieving overall business goals to create a profitable and independent vertical within the organization. ## Responsibilities - Build StarAgri’s Plant-Based Protein Distribution vertical by identifying high-quality product categories, such as pulses-based protein, chickpea protein, etc. - Develop and execute a comprehensive business strategy for the vertical. - Establish a strong sourcing network involving pulses, protein raw materials, processors, manufacturers, importers, exporters, and food ingredient companies. - Set up a distribution network across India targeting B2B, institutional, food processing, nutraceutical, FMCG, and new-age food companies. - Create partnerships with domestic and international suppliers, ingredient manufacturers, food-tech companies, and large buyers. - Leverage existing networks in pulses, commodities, warehousing, marketplaces, and institutions to create a robust distribution-led business. - Own the P&L of the vertical and drive growth, achieving revenue, margin, working capital, and profitability targets. - Collaborate with founders and senior leadership to transform this opportunity into a sustainable and profitable business vertical. ## Qualifications - **Education**: MBA or equivalent degree from a premium business school preferred, with a strong academic background. - **Experience**: Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in agri commodities, pulses, food ingredients, nutrition, B2B distribution, or food processing. - Proven experience in building a distribution network, launching new categories, or managing food/agri product distribution. - Strong understanding of Indian agri markets, the pulses value chain, food ingredient businesses, institutional buyers, and distribution channels. - Comfortable working directly with founders and senior leadership. ## Preferred Skills - Exposure to export-import processes, global sourcing, food processing, or ingredient trade will be an added advantage. - Strong entrepreneurial mindset with excellent leadership skills. ## Experience - A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in the agriculture or food industry, with a focus on distribution and business development. ## Environment - Position is preferred to be located in Mumbai, otherwise Gurgaon/NCR.
