Business Operations
We believe no one should be a stranger just because they speak a different language. That’s why we’re building real-time translation for real-world conversations, so two people with no shared language can talk as easily as old friends.
It sounds like it should already exist. It doesn’t. ✨🌍
We’re a small, well-funded team in central London, backed by people who built the tech already in your pocket. We’re right at the start, and no one has built this before. 🚀
The Role
You’ll join the business side of Glot as a generalist, working with our Chief of Staff. Your starting point is operations: the systems, suppliers, office, onboarding and registers that keep an eight-person company running properly, and the processes nobody has written down yet. The scope is yours to grow: as the company does, you’ll own operations outright, with the team and tools to run it. We’d rather hire someone sharp and let the scope follow their strengths than write a narrow job and hope it fits.
Examples of what you'll do
Operations: the office, equipment, suppliers, insurance, tools and subscriptions, onboarding and offboarding. If it is done twice, turn it into a system.
Processes and registers: keep how we work written down and current (contracts, obligations, decisions, policies), so a second person could run any process. Work with our accountants and lawyers as inputs, not as areas you own.
Projects: own a defined project from brief to done, such as setting up a new entity process, a benefits review, or the operating cadence for a new team.
Decision support: pull the numbers, write the one-page brief, and give the Founder and Chief of Staff a clear recommendation.
What we're looking for
Sharp and fast. You get to the point, you can hold a problem in your head, and you can explain it simply to someone who has not read the documents. We care about this more than credentials.
A builder. You notice a task done twice and turn it into a process. You have built something, a system, a function or a product, rather than only maintained one.
Precise. You notice the missing receipt, the wrong date, the step nobody documented. Detail is not a chore to you; it is how things stay fixed.
Low ego. You are here to make the company work, not to be seen doing it. You change your mind when the reasoning is sound.
Structured. Four to six years running processes end to end in consulting, a startup operations role, or something equally demanding, and you left them better documented than you found them.
Right to work in the UK. You must already have it; we’re open to sponsoring a visa after a successful probation.
What you'll get
Equity: meaningful equity as an early employee.
Holidays: 25 days’ annual leave, plus UK bank holidays.
Benefits: workplace pension, private medical insurance, plus unlimited snacks and drinks in the office. We’re looking into other benefits, don’t hesitate to offer your insights!
Growth: real ownership of how the company runs, with the scope of operations growing as the company does.
