Business Operations Student Assistant
About Electricity Maps
Electricity Maps is a VC-backed climate and energy tech start-up building the world's most comprehensive electricity data platform. We provide real-time, historical, and forecasted data on electricity systems worldwide - covering generation mix, electricity prices, carbon intensity, and renewable share.
Our data powers decisions across sustainability and energy markets: from companies like Google and Cisco optimising compute workloads and reporting emissions, to energy market participants using our forecasts to inform trading strategies and asset optimisation. We're a small, technical team based in Copenhagen, working at the intersection of energy, AI, climate change, and data.
Position Overview
Electricity Maps is looking for a part-time student position to support the Business Operations function. This role provides hands-on exposure to Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, commercial operations, billing, and Go-To-Market (GTM) reporting at a climate tech company, working closely with and reporting to our Business Operations Analyst. It's a good fit for someone detail-oriented who wants practical, cross-functional experience in how a startup's commercial and product operations actually run day-to-day. Because the workload spans several different areas, you should be comfortable switching between tasks and picking things up quickly.
Key Responsibilities
CRM Data & Improvements
Support CRM data entry and hygiene: imports of data, record clean-up, and deduplication. We use Hubspot.
Support CRM improvements: setting up new properties, adjusting views, testing new features, and helping the GTM team with questions or building reports.
Customer & Billing Operations
Handle day-to-day Intercom support messages: triaging and responding to routine/tier-1 customer questions, escalating complex issues where needed.
Execute invoicing for closed won deals: generating invoices, sending them to customers, and tracking payment.
Support customer onboarding in admin-tooling by creating correct API access tokens.
Reporting & Testing Support
Help prepare recurring reporting for GTM meetings by pulling data and populating templates ahead of review.
Support testing of new GTM or product initiatives as they go live.
Systems Support
Support debugging of automation errors (e.g., in n8n workflows, Clay tooling, etc.) under guidance.
Maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and how-to documentation in Notion for GTM processes, keeping team knowledge accessible and up to date.
Qualifications
When reading the requirements, please note that we don't expect you to tick every box. You will be onboarded and guided through these tasks. What matters most is that you bring curiosity, a willingness to learn, and an open mindset.
Required
Currently enrolled in a relevant Bachelor's or Master's program (e.g., business, economics, data, or similar) with at least one year left of studies.
Comfortable learning new software tools quickly and working with complex spreadsheets (VLOOKUPs, importing data, and conditional formatting).
Detail-oriented, organized, and reliable with recurring/repetitive tasks.
Enjoys taking initiative and is confident in taking on new tasks proactively.
Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
Available part-time on an ongoing basis alongside studies.
Preferred
Prior exposure to a CRM system (HubSpot or similar).
Interest in startups and/or climate tech.
Basic familiarity with no-code/automation tools (e.g., n8n, Clay, AI tools) is a plus, but not required.
Logistics
Employment type: part-time working student position (10-15 hours a week).
Reporting line: reports to Business Operations Analyst.
Location: The role is in-office. We are located on Bragesgade (near Nørrebro Station), Copenhagen.
