Business Opportunity Specialist (Compliance)

This position is located in the Small Business Administration, Government Contract Business Development - HQ in Baltimore, MD. The incumbent exercises technical leadership in performing compliance reviews, determining continuing eligibility of small business participants, managing status protests and termination appeals, defining new areas of the program and leading ad hoc teams to improve stakeholder and customer experience with the continuing eligibility process.

As a/an Business Opportunity Specialist (Compliance) at theGS- 1101-13, some of your typical work assignments may include: Performs complex review and analysis of legal and business documents submitted by business owners seeking SBA certification renewal in up to four different small business government contracting programs. Reviews and analyzes all required documentation for recertifications and program exams to determine program eligibility to make recommendations and/or decisions on approving/declining compliance actions for HUBZone, WOSB, EDWOSB, VOSB, SDVOSB, and 8(a) in accordance with 13 USC, CFR Parts 124, 126, 127, and 128. Provides input to the formulation of relevant policies and procedures and provides guidance to other SBA staff and the involved public in interpretation and implementation of such policies and procedures. Perform analysis that can include computation of complex ratios and the comparison of participants with others in the same line business, using industry averages and other data.
