Business Process Engineer
Description
Salary: RM 5,000 – RM 7,000 per month
About the role
The Business Process Engineer drives the digitisation of internal business processes by analysing current operations, identifying improvement opportunities, designing practical future-state processes and implementing fit-for-purpose digital solutions. The role combines business process analysis with hands-on Microsoft Power Platform capabilities to digitise workflows and introduce automation that delivers operational value. Business process reengineering is applied where substantial redesign is required.
Key responsibilities
Conduct process discovery through stakeholder interviews, workshops, observation and review of operational information; document AS-IS processes including activities, roles, systems, information flows, approvals, handoffs, business rules and exceptions
Identify repetitive manual work, duplicate data entry, bottlenecks, inconsistent practices, unnecessary steps and control or traceability gaps; perform root-cause analysis and translate findings into business and functional requirements
Design practical TO-BE processes that simplify and standardise work before digitisation or automation; define roles, responsibilities, decision points, controls, approvals, business rules and exception handling
Apply business process reengineering where incremental improvements are insufficient; prepare and maintain process flows, standard operating procedures and supporting documentation
Identify opportunities to convert manual, paper-based, spreadsheet-driven or fragmented processes into structured digital workflows; translate approved TO-BE processes into digital solution designs
Design, configure, build and enhance business applications using Microsoft Power Apps, particularly Canvas Apps; implement workflow automation, approvals, notifications and controls using Microsoft Power Automate
Use SharePoint Online, Microsoft Lists and Microsoft 365 services for data capture, forms, documents, workflows and collaboration; apply sound practices for access control, data validation, error handling, maintainability and user experience
Facilitate requirements-gathering and solution-design discussions with business and technical stakeholders; document business and functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, rules and process scenarios
Develop UAT scenarios and test cases; coordinate User Acceptance Testing, document defects and support resolution; support deployment, process rollout, user training and operational transition
Define process measures such as cycle time, manual effort, handoffs, errors, rework, compliance, adoption and automation level; monitor post-implementation performance and conduct post-implementation reviews
