Job Summary
The Business Solution & Application (BS&A) Architect will define and drive enterprise application architecture strategy, ensuring the organization’s technology solutions align with corporate strategy, enhance operational efficiencies, and support long-term healthcare business goals. As a senior technical leader, you will shape enterprise-wide design principles, provide architectural thought leadership across critical software portfolios, and establish solution design governance centered around a Minimum Viable Architecture (MVA) framework. This role will be heavily focused on EMR and clinical systems, partnering closely with executive and clinical leadership to influence strategic investments, guide complex buy-build-customize analyses, and mentor senior architects across the healthcare enterprise.
Essential Functions
- Define and drive the enterprise architecture strategy and multi-year technology roadmaps, ensuring they are tightly aligned with organizational objectives.
- Serve as a strategic advisor and key technical leader to executive leadership. You will translate complex business needs into scalable enterprise application strategies, guide investment priorities, and steer the corporation’s strategic technology transition while effectively managing risk.
- Establish collaborative partnerships across diverse technology teams, Application Support Management (ASM), business directors, and executive stakeholders.
- Lead the governance of architectural decisions, standards, and frameworks across the entire organization.
- Develop and maintain dynamic application roadmaps, design patterns, and solution delivery frameworks while championing forward-looking initiatives.
- Navigate evolving business priorities with high autonomy and accountability, seamlessly balancing high-level architectural strategy with hands-on technical execution.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, actively assessing their potential impact on our enterprise systems and long-term technology strategy.
- Provide architectural leadership for enterprise-scale transformation initiatives, ensuring flawless alignment with our architectural principles and enterprise standards.
- Mentor and guide talented architects and engineering leaders, fostering a culture of continuous learning to strengthen our enterprise architecture maturity and capability.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field; or the equivalent required
- Master's Degree in in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field; or the equivalent preferred
- More than 10 years of experience in IT architecture, systems design, or related engineering disciplines required
- 15+ years of experience in IT or Cybersecurity preferred
- 7+ years of experience in application architecture in a clinical setting preferred
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Deep expertise across multiple architecture domains, including enterprise, cloud, infrastructure, application, and network architecture.
- Ability to design and communicate enterprise-scale architecture solutions with measurable business impact.
- Strong executive communication skills with the ability to influence strategic technology and investment decisions.
- Experience leading digital transformation and large-scale technology modernization initiatives.
- Demonstrated thought leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Licenses and Certifications
- Relevant certifications such as TOGAF or comparable credentials preferred
