Business Support Analyst I

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Georgia Department of Driver Services (DDS) is seeking candidates for an entry-level Business Support Analyst I position in the Program Management Office (PMO). College graduates are encouraged to apply.

The PMO offers a structured career-development path to support the learning, development, and growth of Business Support Analysts.

This career path includes a 5% salary increase after the first year and an additional 5% increase after the second year with a title change to Business Support Analyst II. Then completion of the third year includes a 5% salary increase and a title change to Business Support Analyst III. Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Assist with communication between stakeholders and technical staff during business-process and system-improvement initiatives.
  • Gather, organize, and document stakeholder needs and business requirements.
  • •Assist with creating and submitting production support tickets.
  • Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by coordinating testing activities, managing the process, and tracking issues through resolution.
  • Support project implementation, and other assigned duties with guidance from experienced team members.
  • Prepare, review, and distribute lobby-management performance reports.
  • Draft and distribute internal Manager’s Bulletins. Travel to Customer Service Centers (CSCs) across the state, as needed, to support agency operational and customer-service goals.

• Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to organize information for different audiences.

• Ability to collaborate with different teams and stakeholders and contribute effectively in a team environment.

• Interest in learning business analysis, project management and business processes.

• Ability to listen, ask thoughtful questions, and accurately document information and follow-up items.

• Strong organizational, time-management, and attention-to-detail skills.

• Ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and request guidance when priorities are unclear.

• Ability to research and analyze information, identify patterns, and draw logical conclusions.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in business or related field from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of experience related to area of assignment, such as documenting stakeholder requirements, coordinating UAT, and serving as a liaison between business and technical teams.

OR

  • Bachelor's degree in business or related fields from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of experience related to the area of assignment, such as documenting stakeholder requirements, coordinating UAT, and serving as a liaison between business and technical teams

Note: An equivalent combination of knowledge, education, job or intern experience, training, or certifications that provides the necessary knowledge and skills to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted year-over-year.

Preferred Qualifications: Preference may be given to applicants who possess ANY of the following. Qualifications may be demonstrated through academic, internship, volunteer, or paid-work experience:

• Coursework or project experience related to business analysis, information systems, data analysis, process improvement, or project management.

• Experience with gathering and documenting requirements.

• Experience supporting software testing, validating data, documenting results, or tracking issues.

• Experience preparing reports and presentations, as well as planning, coordinating, and facilitating meetings.

• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, or Teams.
