Business Support Intern

ALTIOS supports companies in their international expansion through market entry, business development, and operational support. In Malaysia, we work closely with multinational clients, local partners, chambers, EDOs, and ecosystems players across various industries.

This internship offers hands-on exposure to real business development work, client engagements, and international business environments.


Key Responsibilities (Business Development)

As a Business Support Intern, you will work closely with the Business Development team and be involved in real, ongoing projects. Your responsibilities will include:

1. Market & Event Research Support

  • Research and analyse participant or exhibitor lists from relevant events (seminars, conferences, trade shows, business missions, etc.)

  • Identify and compile key company information including:

    • Company profile and business activities

    • Estimated revenue or company size (where available)

    • Key contact persons and decision-makers

  • Assist in shortlisting potential target clients and priority contacts to support pre-event preparation and on-site engagement

2. CRM & Data Management

  • Support the maintenance and updating of the CRM system

  • Log contacts, leads, projects, and follow-up activities accurately and systematically

  • Ensure data is structured, updated, and easy to track for business development purposes

3. Reporting & Documentation

  • Assist in updating and maintaining internal reports, including:

    • Business Development reports

    • Ecosystem or market-related reports

  • Help ensure reports are well-organised, accurate, and updated on a regular basis

4. Presentation & Proposal Support

  • Assist in preparing customised presentations and proposals for clients or partners

  • Support content structuring, research inputs, and basic slide preparation

5. Research on Clients, Organisations & Regulations

  • Conduct research on:

    • Potential clients or partner organisations

    • Malaysian regulations, licenses, and business requirements relevant to client needs

  • Support the team by summarising findings in a clear and practical manner

6. Event & Business Support

  • Assist in events organised or attended by ALTIOS, such as:

    • Seminars and conferences

    • Business matching sessions

    • Networking or partner events

  • Provide on-site and pre-event support where required


Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business, Economics, International Business, Marketing, Management, or related fields

  • Able to commit to a 3 or 6 month full-time internship

  • Strong interest in business development, international business, and market research

  • Resourceful, proactive, and willing to learn from scratch

  • Able to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment

  • Comfortable with research, data organisation, and basic analysis

  • Good communication skills (written and spoken English; other languages are a plus)

  • Outgoing, confident, and comfortable interacting in professional and business settings

  • Malaysian nationals or individuals who do not require a visa within Malaysia.
