Business System Analyst

We are looking for an experienced Business System Analyst to join our team and support the development and enhancement of banking systems. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of business and technical requirements, solid SQL skills, and experience working with APIs and Agile delivery teams. Experience in the banking sector is essential, along with the ability to bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams.

Responsibilities

Gather, analyze, and document business and system requirements for banking applications and processes.

Translate business needs into clear functional and technical specifications for development teams.

Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, developers, QA engineers, and other analysts to ensure requirements are well understood.

Analyze existing systems and workflows to identify gaps, dependencies, and opportunities for improvement.

Use SQL to query databases, validate data, investigate discrepancies, and support business analysis activities.

Analyze API integrations, including request and response structures, data flows, and system dependencies.

Support the definition and documentation of API requirements and integration specifications.

Create user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, and other relevant project documentation.

Manage and track requirements, tasks, and defects using Jira.

Participate in Agile ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and reviews.

Support testing activities by clarifying requirements, validating business rules, and assisting with defect investigation.

Ensure that delivered solutions meet business expectations and comply with relevant banking processes and standards.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Business System Analyst, preferably within the banking or financial services sector.

Strong experience in requirements gathering, analysis, and documentation.

Good understanding of banking products, business processes, and financial systems.

Strong SQL skills, including writing queries, data validation, and database analysis.

Hands-on experience with Jira for requirement management, user stories, and issue tracking.

Good understanding of REST APIs, API integrations, and system-to-system communication.

Ability to translate business requirements into clear functional and technical specifications.

Experience working with developers and QA teams throughout the software development lifecycle.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a collaborative environment.
