Business Systems Administrator
Description
Business Systems Administrator
Pratt Industries is hiring a Business Systems Administrator to keep the software behind our Logistics, Recycling, and Strategic Accounts business units running, connected and getting smarter.
You'll join our growing IT team as we expand how the business uses data and AI. You'll own the applications our business units rely on every day, from vendor platforms to software we've built ourselves. That includes the databases underneath, who can access what, how systems talk to each other, and the reporting leaders use to make decisions. You'll also use AI tools and build agents that take real work off people's plates.
If you like being the person who knows how everything fits together, and you'd rather solve the problem than just close the ticket, we'd like to hear from you.
What you'll do:
• Administer vendor-provided and custom-built business applications: installs, upgrades, patching, configuration and vendor coordination.
• Manage the databases behind them, including SQL Server and other relational platforms, from SQL and T-SQL development and performance tuning to backups, replication and maintenance.
• Own identity and access: provision users and roles, connect apps to Active Directory/Entra ID and single sign-on, and run access reviews.
• Be the go-to expert when something breaks, finding root causes and keeping users informed.
• Build and maintain integrations between systems using APIs, ETL and file-based interfaces.
• Create reports, dashboards and data models that give the business answers it can trust, including maintaining our SSRS reports and helping lead their move to modern reporting tools.
• Find problems AI can solve, then build and ship the tools, automations and agents that solve them, securely.
What you bring:
• 3–5 years administering business applications in a production environment.
• Strong SQL and T-SQL: you write complex queries and stored procedures, and you know how to make slow ones fast.
• Experience building reports and dashboards in Power BI or a similar tool (Tableau, Domo, Qlik), plus paginated reports in SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
• Integration experience with APIs, Power Automate, SSIS, cloud ETL services or similar tools.
• Hands-on AI experience: you've used AI tools or built an agent or automation that solved a real business problem, and you can walk us through it.
• Working knowledge of user access management, directory services and single sign-on.
• Clear communication with both technical and non-technical people.
A degree in IT, Computer Science or a related field is welcome, but equivalent experience counts just as much.
Nice to have:
You don't need all of these. If you have some, tell us about them.
• Experience with Logistics and Recycling business systems and processes.
• Scripting in PowerShell, Python or C#.
• Experience with LLM APIs, Copilot Studio, agent frameworks or MCP integrations.
• Familiarity with Azure or AWS and SaaS application administration.
• Relevant certifications in databases, reporting, identity or cloud.
