Business Systems Analyst

Overview

PowerPlan is seeking a Business Systems Analyst to become a critical partner between the business and IT, owning requirements gathering and driving the delivery of Salesforce and integrated-system enhancements that support Sales, Customer Support, Operations, Client Services, Product, and Marketing.

Most of your time will be spent meeting with business stakeholders, translating their requests into clear system requirements, and partnering with the team to determine feasibility, scope, and impact before a solution is built, tested, and deployed. You'll also provide second-tier support, but this isn't a help desk role — most requests require the functional, back-end knowledge of how our systems are configured, and success depends on that depth of expertise.

About PowerPlan

PowerPlan helps the companies that power the world unlock greater value from their infrastructure investments. We combine deep industry expertise, trusted technology, and AI-driven innovation to help capital-intensive organizations manage the financial complexity of their assets with confidence.

We're in the middle of one of the most significant transformations in our history. Decades of proven functionality are being reimagined on a modern SaaS foundation, while AI becomes central to how we build, deliver, and evolve our products. The next generation of the PowerPlan platform is being designed right now. Join us, and you'll have the opportunity to influence the technology, engineering practices, and capabilities that will shape it for years to come.

Responsibilities

Your Impact

  • Independently gather, document, and clarify requirements for incoming enhancement requests, and manage a caseload of 3-5 concurrent initiatives with minimal rework.
  • Deliver expert, functional-level second-tier support for Salesforce and integrated systems — beyond front-end troubleshooting.
  • Recognize when a support issue is actually an enhancement opportunity and route it accordingly.
  • Contribute to system audits, governance, and compliance standards with accuracy and reliability.
  • Partner effectively with the Business Systems team's developers and stakeholders across departments, escalating for broader buy-in only when it's truly needed.

What Success Looks Like

Within 90 days, you're gathering and documenting requirements independently. By six months, you're managing a caseload of enhancement initiatives with minimal rework, because you scoped them right the first time. Within a year, you're the requirements partner stakeholders trust and the collaborator developers rely on — someone who knows the difference between a ticket and a project, and routes accordingly.

Qualifications

What You'll Bring

  • Proven experience as a Business Systems Analyst (or similar) with functional, back-end configuration experience in Salesforce (Sales & Service Cloud).
  • Strong requirements-gathering skills — the ability to translate business problems into clear, actionable system requirements.
  • Experience partnering with developers to scope, size, and validate enhancement requests.
  • Experience developing test scripts and supporting user acceptance testing (UAT).
  • Experience supporting Salesforce-integrated third-party applications such as Concur and Certinia.
  • Clear, professional communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.

Education & Experience

  • 5+ years of increasingly responsible experience in a Salesforce environment as a business systems analyst, functional consultant, or system administrator.
  • 3+ years directly supporting Salesforce-related projects such as integrations, updates, upgrades, and enhancement delivery.
  • Salesforce Certified Platform Administrator preferred, ideally backed by hands-on functional experience rather than certification alone.
