Business Systems Analyst
Summary
The Business Systems Analyst will work within the IT team to gather reporting requirements and develop Power BI dashboards to support business decision-making. The role focuses on SQL data extraction, report maintenance, and collaborating with stakeholders across various business functions.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented IT Report Writer to join our Information Technology team.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data, creating reports and helping business users make informed decisions through meaningful dashboards and reporting.
About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Information Technology, you'll work closely with stakeholders across the business to understand reporting requirements and develop Power BI dashboards and reports that provide valuable operational and management insights.
This is a hands-on reporting role focused on developing, maintaining and improving business reports rather than data engineering or software development.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards.
- Gather reporting requirements from business stakeholders.
- Extract and analyse data using SQL.
- Produce scheduled and ad hoc reports across multiple business functions.
- Validate data to ensure reporting accuracy and consistency.
- Maintain and enhance existing reporting solutions.
- Create visually engaging dashboards that support business decision-making.
- Document report specifications and reporting processes.
- Assist users with reporting enquiries and troubleshooting.
- Identify opportunities to improve and automate reporting processes.
About You
You'll enjoy working with data and have the ability to turn business information into reports that are easy to understand and add real value to decision-making.
You'll also bring:
- Experience developing reports using Microsoft Power BI.
- Sound SQL querying skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- The ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working with ERP or business systems.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Desirable Skills
- Experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Fabric (desirable but not essential).
- Experience with Power Query or DAX.
- Exposure to ERP systems such as Pronto.
- Understanding of business reporting and KPI development.
