Business Systems Manager - Data Platform Engineering - 1 year contract
The Business System Manager- Data Platform Engineering - Retail IT, is responsible for supporting and enhancing the Retail Business Analytics capabilities to optimize the planning, buying, and merchandising functions for Omni-channel retail operations. This role demands functional and technical expertise to ensure effective support and continuous improvement of critical Business Intelligence applications such as Redshift, Databricks, generative and agentic AI capabilities.
Overall Responsibilities:
Provide functional and technical support for Business Intelligence technologies, focusing on planning, buying, and merchandising.
Ensure effective support to core retail applications (SAP), covering master data management, items, locations, pricing, costing, purchase orders, allocations, transfers, inventory management, replenishment, price management, and markdown management.
Lead requirement analysis and solution design for new projects and enhancements, working with business users to complete Business Requirement Documents (BRD).
Collaborate with SI partners, review technical solutions, and guide teams through all project phases, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and effective project delivery.
Possess technical proficiency in AWS Redshift and Databricks, SAP, and Business Intelligence capabilities like generative and agentic AI
Functional and Technical Knowledge:
Expertise in Retail, supporting planning, buying, and merchandising functions for Omni-channel retail.
Application Support:
Proven experience in SAP and BI Application
Master Data Management (Merchandise hierarchy & other master data)
Integration and Customization:
Functional knowledge of ERP
Understanding of customizations, extensions, and custom integrations in applications with third-party systems.
Problem Solving:
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills focused on root cause analysis and preventive fixes.
Project Management:
Drive requirement analysis and solutioning for new projects and enhancements.
Work with business users to complete Business Requirement Documents (BRD) for new projects and demand.
Conduct solution walkthrough sessions with SI partners and guide the team across all project phases.
Review technical solutions, efforts, costs, and timelines provided by SI partners.
Manage all phases of projects from Design, Build, Test, and Deploy.
Effective project and stakeholder management skills.
Technical Skills:
Hands-on experience in designing solutions and integrations (REST) on the AWS cloud platform, including Cognito, API Gateways, Lambda (NodeJS), Elastic Cache, S3, RDS (Postgres, Redshift), Dynamo DB, SQS, SNS, CloudWatch, CDK, and CloudFormation stack.
Hands-on experience with Oracle PL-SQL, Unix, Oracle Forms, Shell scripting, and Oracle performance tuning.
Knowledge of Retail Integration Bus (RIB) for standard integrations between RMS, WMS, and SIM.
Educational Qualification:
Bachelors/ Masters or Engineering in Computer Science or relevant field.
Oracle Retail Functional certification is preferred.
Years of Experience:
12-15 years of experience in IT, with at least 5 years of Retail ERP is desirable.
Must have experience in integrations to multiple in-house and external systems.
