Business Systems Support Analyst

Key requirements:

  • Receive, log and categorise issues submitted through email, telephone and the IT Service Desk.
  • Capture key details, including symptoms, affected users, business impact and system dependencies.
  • Perform initial troubleshooting by validating user steps, access permissions and replicating issues in lower environments.
  • Identify the likely affected system or integration point and escalate complex matters with clear investigation notes.
  • Act as the primary contact for users, providing regular updates and coordinating with internal IT teams and external vendors.
  • Track incidents, problems and enhancement requests through to resolution, escalating risks to service levels or business operations.
  • Support UAT by preparing and executing test cases, documenting defects and confirming fixes meet business requirements.
  • Maintain accurate support records and contribute to knowledge articles, user guides and training materials.
  • Identify recurring issues, training gaps and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of business systems, workflows, integrations and upcoming releases

Experience:

  • Prior experience in a Business Systems or Applications Support role overseeing critical business systems.
  • Experience supporting multiple integrated applications.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM or another CRM platform highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated ability to investigate, categorise and triage system issues
  • Experience using ServiceNow or a comparable IT service management platform highly regarded.
  • Ability to communicate technical and process information to different audiences.
  • Exposure to custom-built, specialised or proprietary business systems.
  • Experience supporting spatial systems or Geographic Information Systems high regarded.
  • Basic understanding of UAT principles, test execution and defect tracking.
