- Draft petitions for individuals of extraordinary ability and for multinational executives and managers.

- Handle physician and government-agency waiver applications.

- Advise HR departments and in-house legal teams on filing strategy, timing and compliance.

- Answer agency evidence requests and notices of intent to deny with persuasive legal arguments and supporting documentation.

- Work with the firm's corporate, transactional and employment lawyers on client matters that have a work-authorization component.

- Track cases and deadlines accurately across a high-volume national practice.

- Experience handling certification cases at a law firm.

- Experience with employment-based temporary visa petitions and with drafting permanent visa petitions.

- A practice focused on representing employers, rather than individuals or families.

- Admission to the New York bar, or readiness to seek it.

- Excellent legal writing skills and comfort using case management software.

- Ability to juggle many deadlines and a heavy caseload.

- A service-minded approach with corporate HR contacts, proactive updates on case status and delays, and a team-oriented style.

- Willingness to work on-site about 50% of the time at one of the Upstate New York offices, with local ties or willingness to relocate.

- Authorization to work in the United States.

Bonus points

- Experience with physician waiver applications.
