Buyer
American Wheatley is seeking a detail-oriented Buyer to support our manufacturing operations in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. If you enjoy keeping production supplied with the right materials at the right time, we encourage you to apply.
What You’ll Do
- Promote a safety-first culture across supply chain, warehousing, and material handling activities.
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers to meet production and operational needs.
- Build strong supplier relationships and resolve issues involving quality, delivery, and cost.
- Partner with production planning and operations to maintain appropriate inventory levels and prevent shortages or excess stock.
- Coordinate with engineering, production, finance, and logistics to align purchasing with production schedules and business priorities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
What You’ll Bring
- At least 2 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management.
- Familiarity with materials and components used in industrial manufacturing.
- Proficiency in ERP systems.
- Strong attention to detail when reviewing orders, pricing, specifications, quantities, and delivery dates.
Work Environment and Physical Requirements
This position is primarily office-based and includes visits to warehouse and light manufacturing areas, as well as occasional customer site visits. Duties may require walking, standing, navigating production areas, and occasionally lifting or moving up to 50 pounds. Industrial areas may involve noise, dust, and temperature variations. Required personal protective equipment must be worn.
