Manages procurement of aviation spare parts, issuing purchase orders, tracking supplier performance, and resolving supply chain issues using ERP and BI tools.
SUMMARY: As part of a leading global aerospace distributor, this position is part of the Manufacturing Supply Chain team responsible for the procurement of aviation spare parts and components. This key Individual Contributor role is focused on purchase order management, supplier relationship management, expediting, quality coordination, and ensuring a healthy and on-time supply pipeline. It requires a detail-oriented self-starter with strong supplier management, communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Issue and manage Purchase Orders (PO placement) for aviation spare parts in accordance with approved procurement plans, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with supplier agreements.

Leads aspects of strategic sourcing, which may include Statement of Work (SOW) and Request for Proposal (RFP) preparation, proposal evaluation, price/cost analysis, contract negotiation, vendor management, and contract administration.

Manage Open Order Book in ERP system via regular communication with suppliers and reconciliation of parts, dates, pricing details, and communicate status updates to internal stakeholders.

Build and maintain strong supplier relationships through regular communication, performance reviews, and proactive issue resolution to ensure a healthy and reliable supply base.

Develop, maintain, and analyze supplier scorecards to track on-time delivery, quality performance, and compliance metrics, present findings to leadership and drive supplier improvement actions.

Actively expedite critical and at-risk purchase orders by coordinating with suppliers to accelerate deliveries, resolve bottlenecks, and minimize impact to inventory availability and customer commitments.

Coordinate with Quality and Engineering teams to resolve supplier non-conformances, manage rejected material dispositions, and ensure parts meet required technical and airworthiness standards.

Attend cross-functional meetings and calls to brief department heads on open order status, delivery risks, and action plans; support data-driven decision-making using ERP and BI tools.

Utilize Business Intelligence skills to analyze data from company ERP and reporting dashboards.
