Job Description:
Procurement
- Pre-construction involvement regarding material selection and procurement forecast;
- Obtain the quotation from various vendors required to complete the works;
- Identifying and assessing potential suppliers and construction materials;
- Responsible for procurement of material, tools, equipment, and services for construction projects from the integrated at the lowest cost to meet project requirements;
- Ensuring supplies and suppliers comply with safety, health, environmental and other requirements;
- Ensuring the flow and delivery of materials in time to maximize efficiency;
- Taking part in value engineering and cost-saving initiatives;
- Compiling DO, billing, and goods receipts;
- In charge of daily operational purchasing needs such as planning, issuing purchase orders and following up on track orders, and ensuring timely delivery;
- Conduct market research to identify pricing trends;
- Liaise with the site supervisor, project engineer, and project manager
Vendor & Client Management
- Negotiate with suppliers for the most competitive prices, favorable terms, and delivery times with vendors;
- Interface with different vendors to secure construction material for projects and bids are attained at an optimal level;
- Resolve supply, quality, service, and invoicing issues with vendors;
- Strategic sourcing activities to find and develop new suppliers to drive cost reduction and improve the cost of projects as well as increase the competition with existing vendors;
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients and vendors to meet or exceed business objectives;
Administrative & Miscellaneous Works
- Undertake basic bookkeeping tasks and maintain detailed records such as tracking documents as well as purchasing databases;
- Prepare and maintain cost reports to be submitted to management on a monthly basis;
- Assist in ISO audit documentation;
- Handle import/export procedures and documents when procuring from overseas;
- Managing incoming calls and walk-in guests;
- Any other ad-hoc duties as assigned;
- 6days work week
Requirements:
- Candidate must possess at least Bachelor's Degree in any field;
- Minimum 2 year of prior working experience in procurement of construction materials is a must;
- Familiar with various types of construction materials and specifications;
- Hands-on experience with NAV software & knowledge of ERP systems is a plus;
- May be required to work at the site to liaise directly with site personnel for the procurement needs;
- Resourceful and possess outstanding negotiation, analytical, and communication skills in order to attain the lowest price and best quality with various vendors;
- Commercial awareness and a high degree of integrity;
- Able to work under pressure and fast dynamic construction environment;
- Competent to handle all allocated projects at a one-time slot within a timeframe given due to stringent project deadlines;
- Ability to meet deadlines and take on new tasks and eager to learn;
- Ability to resolve unexpected order/delivery issues that may arise over the phone with vendors or site personnel whichsoever beyond working hours, weekends,s or public holidays
