Who are we hiring?
Under the supervision of the Senior Director Procurement F&B, the Buyer is responsible for daily purchasing, sourcing, and inventory management across all food and beverage operations, including Madison Square Garden Arena, Radio City Music Hall, The Beacon Theater, The Chicago Theater, and the Knicks and Rangers Training Center.
What will you do?
- Execute tactical buying for food, beverage, and paper/packaging products across all venues
- Analyze requisitions from multiple locations and develop efficient, cost-effective purchasing strategies
- Place orders through Eatec, MSG’s inventory and procurement system
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date product information within the Eatec database
- Troubleshoot delivery issues, including shortage and out of stocks, in a timely manner
- Build and manage strong vendor relationships to ensure consistent product availability and service quality
- Support the vendor bidding process by assisting with bid analysis, RFPs, and vendor selection
- Establish and manage par levels for stocked inventory items to ensure optimal inventory levels
- Evaluate product forecasting needs based on event schedules and usage trends
- Source new vendor and products as needed to support operational goals and enhance offerings
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams—including Warehouse, Culinary, Operations and Accounts Payable—to effectively execute procurement initiatives and alignment across departments
- Manage invoice and credit reconciliation to maintain accurate financial records and resolve discrepancies
- Provide exceptional experiences for our guests, partners, and team members, including by adhering to our appearance and presentation guidelines while on-site.
What do you need to succeed?
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field
- 4+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, foodservice, or related industry
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
- Experience with inventory and purchasing systems (Eatec experience a plus)
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and reporting tools
- Proven ability to thrive under pressure while managing multiple priorities and projects
- Strong negotiation skills, with demonstrated track record for building and maintaining effective vendor relationships
- Extensive knowledge of food, beverage, and paper categories
- Advanced analytical skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable results
