C/C++ PERL/PYTHON - GUI SOFTWARE ENGINEER - CORK CITY-IRELAND

Develops and optimizes GUI software for semiconductor EDA tools using C/C++, Python, and Perl to help chip designers build advanced electronics.

Overview

Our client, a leading multinational semiconductor software provider, requires a C/C++/Python/Perl GUI Software Engineer for a role based in Cork City, Ireland. You will be onsite 4 days per week.

Role

You will design, develop, and validate software for the Electronic Design Automation (EDA) industry, helping chip designers create advanced electronic products.

Responsibilities

  • Software Development: Design, develop, troubleshoot, and debug software programs for industry-leading physical verification and extraction products.
  • Performance Optimization: Investigate and implement algorithms and data management structures to improve software performance and turnaround time.
  • Testing & Validation: Develop and maintain unit tests, validation tools, and feature tests to ensure product robustness and quality.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Product Engineering (PE), Product Validation (PV), other software engineers, and external customers.
  • Code Quality: Participate in and conduct peer code reviews to ensure high-quality code and functionality coverage.
  • Product Support: Provide technical support to application and product engineers for customer-related problems and requests.

Education

  • Degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, or a related field is often preferred.

Experience

  • 1 to 3 years of proficiency in C/C++, Python or Perl Scripting GUI.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills are important for working with cross-functional teams and customers.
