Summary
A Dublin-based engineer who designs, develops, tests, and maintains C#/.NET applications (web, desktop, or backend services), contributes to architecture and code reviews, and integrates REST APIs and microservices within an Agile team. Core stack: C#/.NET Core, ASP.NET Core, SQL databases, Entity Framework Core, and Git.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain C# / .NET applications (web, desktop, or backend services)
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices
- Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to technical design decisions
- Collaborate with Product Owners, designers, and QA engineers throughout the SDLC
- Conduct and participate in code reviews to ensure quality and consistency
- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, bugs, and technical debt
- Integrate with RESTful APIs, microservices, and third-party systems
- Work within Agile/Scrum ceremonies (sprint planning, standups, retrospectives)
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement
- Stay current with emerging technologies and .NET ecosystem updates
Requirements
- Strong proficiency in C# and .NET / .NET Core (3+ years)
- Experience with ASP.NET Core for building web APIs or MVC applications
- Solid understanding of OOP principles, design patterns, and SOLID principles
- Proficiency with SQL and relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc.)
- Experience with Entity Framework Core or similar ORM frameworks
- Familiarity with unit testing frameworks (NUnit, xUnit, MSTest)
- Version control using Git (branching strategies, pull requests)
- Understanding of REST API design and consumption
