C-UAS Operator
Summary
C-UAS Operators monitor counter-unmanned aircraft systems at NATO Airbase Geilenkirchen, supporting 24/7 force protection and airfield defense through real-time detection, alert assessment, and coordination with security authorities. Work involves rotational shifts on-site in Germany, maintaining operational logs, and following Electronic Warfare and jamming protocols.
Key Responsibilities
Continuously monitor C-UAS system interfaces and associated sensor displays during assigned shifts.
Recognize, assess, and appropriately respond to system alerts and suspected UAS activity.
Execute timely notification and escalation to the appropriate Security Squadron and International Military Police authorities in accordance with established procedures.
Maintain accurate operational logs, event records, reports, and shift handover documentation.
Maintain situational awareness and operational continuity across shift transitions.
Participate in required drills, exercises, continuation training, readiness checks, and surge operations during elevated threat conditions.
Comply with all access, security, safety, operational security, Electronic Warfare, and jamming protocols.
Monitor C-UAS systems, assess alerts, conduct identification support, maintain logs, and recommend courses of action to the appropriate authorities. Contractor personnel are not authorized to initiate or execute active Counter-UAS defeat measures.
Minimum Requirements
NATO member state citizens.
NATO or National Secret security clearance.
Fluent English, both written and spoken.
Demonstrated reliability, attention to detail, and ability to operate under time-sensitive conditions.
Stable character & physically and mentally resilient.
Ability to obtain a police clearance certificate.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in force protection, airfield defense, surveillance, radar monitoring, or command-and-control operations.
Familiarity with security or surveillance systems operating within a command post environment.
Experience working in a multinational or NATO operational setting.
Program or project management experience in a security or operational environment.
Prior instructional experience, curriculum development, or formal instructor certification.
Experience supervising contractor or multinational personnel in a high-security environment.
Work Location and Schedule
This is a full-time, on-site position located at Airbase Geilenkirchen, Germany. Remote work is not available. The C-UAS Operator supports continuous 24-hour, seven-day-per-week operations and must be able to work rotational shifts as required. Work schedules will be administered in accordance with applicable German labor laws.
