Duties & Role
The NCI Agency is seeking a Full Stack Software Developer who is a capable programmer, passionate and proactive professional. The contractor will work on a full‑time basis on the development, operation and maintenance of NATO software applications using tools such as IDE, Jira, Jenkins and Maven within a SCRUM team. The contractor will work from the office at least three days per week and on average 38 hours per week. The role is based at the NCI Agency in The Hague, Netherlands, under the supervision of the Project Manager/Product Owner/Service Delivery Manager and as a member of the C2 Service Centre.
Requirements
- Currently active NATO SECRET security clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related engineering field and at least 3 years of software development experience.
- Proven experience (≥2 years) with Angular (v10+) and related front‑end technologies (HTML5, CSS, TypeScript).
- Proven experience (≥2 years) with Spring (v5+) and related back‑end technologies (Java 5+, Spring Boot).
- Proficiency in automated testing (JUnit, component, functional, integration).
- Knowledge of XML, JSON, Git, Maven, Jenkins.
- Knowledge of TCP/UDP/IP protocols, networking concepts and tools (SSH, terminal).
- Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases and DBMS.
- Experience working within Linux environments (e.g., RHEL, Oracle Linux).
- Desired: experience with WebSockets (STOMP), real‑time data visualisation, Agile (SCRUM) methodology, Tactical Data Links, application packaging (RPM).
- Proactive and positive work attitude with flexible and cooperative approach.
- Ability to communicate and work within an international team.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to undertake front‑end and back‑end tasks with same professionalism.
- English fluency.
- Nationality of one of the NATO nations.
