Cabin Support Counselors
Key
Responsibilities:
• Provide
guidance to campers on their schedule, activity choices, and abiding
camp rules
• Assist campers at meal times, and in the cabin to ensure campers are
maintaining health and hygiene practices such as showering, wearing
clean clothes and getting appropriate sleep
• Lead
cabin activities, songs, and games that are engaging and age
appropriate
• Provide
emotional and behavioral support to campers as needed by following
behavior management techniques as outlined in the staff manual and
during training
• Support or lead instruction of assigned camp activities to campers
• Ensure
the safety of all campers when participating in camp
activities
Requirements
• Completed
High School in the last school year
• A
desire to positively impact the life of a child and willingness to
put the needs of campers first
• Have
a passion for science, animals and childhood development
• Able
to effectively communicate ideas, and instructions in a constructive
manner
• Self-motivated
and able to work on tasks and assigned goals with minimal
supervision
• Be
willing to learn new concepts and skills
• Able
to work in a team and both give and take direction from
others
• Willingness
to adhere to camp’s code of conduct, rules and policies
Benefits
Starting
pay $750 for 3 weeks. Additional $10 credit in camp
store for snacks and supplies for each week at camp. Housing, meals, and laundry
included. Weekend work is required, this position requires
availability to work on-site 7 days a week for the contract
period. Three 1-hour breaks provided each day, and 1 scheduled day off
each week.
