Cable Laying & Splicing Technician
Key Responsibilities
- Perform underground and overhead fiber optic cable laying activities.
- Carry out fiber splicing, jointing, and termination works.
- Install and maintain OFC (Optical Fiber Cable) networks.
- Conduct cable testing using OTDR and power meter tools.
- Identify and rectify fiber cuts and network faults.
- Handle route survey and cable path inspection activities.
- Coordinate with field engineers and network teams for smooth project execution.
- Ensure proper documentation of cable routes and splicing details.
- Follow safety procedures during field operations and maintenance work.
- Attend emergency breakdowns and restoration activities.
Requirements
Required Skills
- Knowledge of fiber optic cable laying and splicing.
- Basic understanding of networking and ISP infrastructure.
- Ability to use OTDR, fusion splicer, and testing equipment.
- Troubleshooting and fault identification skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Willingness to travel and work in field operations.
