CAD Design Engineer

To deliver CAD design engineering services as required by the Engineering Manager, while providing technical support, system development, and continuous improvement of CAD systems across the company.

Key Responsibilities

Design Work

• Produce 2D CAD drawings using AutoCAD and 3D models using Autodesk Plant 3D for engineering projects assigned by the Engineering Manager, including P&IDs, plant layouts, vessel drawings (Thermoplastics/GRP and steel), isometrics, structural drawings, and instrument locations and hookups.
• Develop and maintain standard CAD drawings, using datasheets and previous projects to prepare detailed designs.
• Maintain appropriate electronic and hard-copy records for quality assurance and contract execution.
• Prepare CAD drawings to support sales bids.
• Coordinate with other CAD users and work within design teams, handling different project components when multiple CAD designers are required.
• Provide guidance and technical assistance to other CAD users, and deliver in-house training on the use, benefits, and limitations of ERG's CAD systems to other departments, particularly Sales, other Engineering disciplines, and Project Managers.
• Identify opportunities to improve CAD systems and practices, and assist the Mechanical Engineering Manager in implementing necessary changes and coordinating company-wide integration.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma with a Shamel certificate or a Bachelor's degree, with a recognised CAD design qualification.
• 2–5 years of experience in the layout and detailed design of process equipment and systems.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in AutoCAD 2D design of process plants, including vessels, tanks, pipework, low-pressure ductwork, valves, pumps, fans, pipe supports, steelwork, and instrumentation.
• Minimum 2 years of experience using Autodesk Plant 3D.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in Thermoplastics/GRP design.
• Ability to work with ERG's CAD systems to successfully implement designs for packages and equipment in support of project bids and contract execution.
• Languages: Arabic (Native) and English (Good).
