CAD Designer
Classification: Full-Time

Position Summary
Under the direction of the Process Control Manager, the CAD Designer provides support to Project Managers by preparing routine layouts, detail drawings, assembly drawings, sketches, and designs.
Essential Functions
- Uses computer-aided design and drafting (AutoCAD) equipment and software to develop designs.
- Creates and revises production drawings, including detail and assembly drawings.
- Prepares final sketches of proposed drawings and checks part dimensions, materials, relationships between parts, and the relationship of components to the overall structure or project.
- Sketches rough product layouts and computes angles, weights, surface areas, dimensions, radii, clearances, tolerances, leverage, and hole locations.
- Drafts detailed multiview drawings of products.
- Creates finished designs from sketches.
- Updates drafting and engineering standards.
- Maintains an organized file system for production drawings.
- Communicates with Fabrication, Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Manufacturing regarding new and revised prints.
- Researches and applies city, county, and state design standards and specifications.
- Creates engineered drawings from previously manufactured parts or assemblies.
- Assists the supervisor and Project Managers in creating submittal information.
- Understands revision levels and supports ongoing drawing improvements.
- Performs other duties and special projects as requested.
Minimum Education and Experience
- Minimum of one year of experience and a high level of proficiency with AutoCAD.
- A minimum of one year of experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or machining facility is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Proficient in reading, writing, mathematics, and operational logic.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple details in stressful situations.

- Excellent work ethic, including punctuality and accuracy.
- On-site work is required. Relocation assistance is not offered.
