CAD Drafter
Description
Job Title: | CAD Drafter | Revision: | 10.22.2026 |
Reports To: | Director of Engineering | ||
Supervisory Responsibilities: | None |
WHO WE ARE
SkoFlo designs and builds precision flow-control valves that keep energy moving. Our chemical injection equipment is installed in some of earth's harshest environments, from deserts to the sea floor. Energy operators and system integrators around the world trust us to provide decades of flawless performance.
We are a focused team in Woodinville, Washington — small enough that your work is visible from day one, and serious enough that the world's largest energy companies seek us out. Engineering, sales, manufacturing, test, and quality work under one roof, so you can follow designs from CAD to the shop floor to the test stand without leaving the building. Here, autonomy is the default and ownership is the expectation: you get the room to make real decisions, and we trust you to see them through. We value rigor, honesty, and perseverance — the same qualities our customers count on our products to embody.
We encourage you to apply even if you do not meet every qualification listed. We look for curiosity, initiative, sound judgment, and a desire to learn and grow. While technical skills can be developed, ownership, integrity, work ethic, and a commitment to excellence are expected of every member of our team.
POSITION SUMMARY
As a CAD Drafter at SkoFlo, you will create the drawings and own the standards that every part we build depends on. In our world, a single missed detail can stall a customer's entire project, so the precision and care you bring will be noticed and valued every day. You will work directly with engineers, machinists, and inspectors, and become an expert in the products behind the drawings — the person everyone trusts to get it right.
WHAT SKOFLO WILL DO FOR YOU
- Give you the final word on how our products are defined — the drafting standard you own is the standard every SkoFlo part is built to
- Teach you the engineering behind the drawings, from material selection to tolerance stack-ups. You'll learn the details that separate the best from the rest.
- Offer a growth path toward designer and engineering roles, with employer-paid tuition to help you get there
- Give you a controlled CAD and vault environment and the tools to do the job right
- Surround you with a team that values precision and treats documentation as engineering, not paperwork
WHAT YOU WILL DO FOR THIS ON-SITE POSITION
- Create models and drawings across the full product life cycle, from novel R&D designs to legacy product refreshes
- Own SkoFlo's drafting standards and work instructions, and help engineers and drafters apply them consistently
- Deliver manufacturing drawings so clear and accurate that the shop can build it right the first time, every time
- Keep the product data production depends on accurate and trusted, including BOMs in ERP, methods of manufacture, and configurator data
- Drive ECNs and drawing release in the controlled vault, so every change is tracked and every revision is right
- Help solve NCR investigations with drawing and revision history
- Create the work and build instructions the shop wants to use, organized so a new hire can easily follow along
- Model components and production fixtures alongside the engineers who design them
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE IN YOUR FIRST YEAR
- SkoFlo's drafting standards and work instructions are current, clear, and helping everyone produce better products, faster
- Your drawings are used without question by internal and external shops
- The build instructions you own are used on the shop floor every day, driving consistent builds and meeting demanding quality benchmarks
- Production builds standard products without needing engineering support, because the drawings, BOMs, and instructions are complete and correct
- Engineers and production staff see you as the go-to person for drawing and model quality
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
- A sharp eye for detail and pride in getting it right the first time
- The confidence to hold everyone, engineers included, to the standard you own
- A curious mind and a desire to learn the products behind the drawings
- 3+ years of experience drafting mechanical components, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience writing or maintaining drafting standards, work instructions, or other controlled documents
- Proficiency with AutoDesk Inventor or SolidWorks, preferably in a controlled vault environment
- Strong working knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and ERP / BOM systems
- A working knowledge of machining and manufacturing processes; familiarity with ASME Y14.100 and AWS weld symbols is a plus
- Clear communication and the ability to coordinate with engineering, quality, and the shop
